Agara signal has almost six diversions from one point, and its manned many times. Six diversions from one circle point with no circle is pouring rain in just one bowl. I have been to mumbai etc but i still feel traffic condition is worst in Bangalore. To add to above all the bus system is completely govt. and i never see a bus in bus lane rather there is no concept of one! bus is in 2 wheeler lane or car lane most of the times, you cannot even view signal in front of you. Signals are left or right, or low or too high you have to search for them!
I was eagerly waiting for someone to spell out the Bangalore Beat
Completely agree with you there man. Although, making a complete list of shitty traffic spots across will be impossible.
It would be way easier to list out the roads which have normal roads and traffic !

i have seen potholes or at places in chandigarh too near rock garden and stuff, not that common though. But chandigarh has lot of funds then its a UT, State and Capital of 2 big states. Also its very small compared to Delhi. i would say delhi-NCR has some good roads for racing

haha agreed even hosur road highway is a joke! drain cover runs in between from start to end and road on one side is higher than another. The best road to ride early morning is ORR (mahadevpura road) from Marathalli to K. R. Puram or a short patch of New Airport road (they have interceptors there). Or a short patch of inner ring road after ejipura. Old airport road is a ride on moon till marathalli!! speed breakers and potholes.

@prafultripathy i know about that site, on top right hand corner just select city you will Delhi, Hyderabad and other cities who have this, its also available on Airtel Digital TV box , lol. Please accept that things need to change at Bangalore, i have seen people protesting against flyovers and underpasses.

You were right on one count man. I had no idea that such a system was in place
Although, it doesn't do much to help with the state that the roads are in and the quality of 99% of the riders on these roads.

Tell me about it. I pass those two signals every week day (Office at Kadubeesanahalli near Marathalli). Agara is quite ok compared to Belandur. Belandur signal is crazy during office hours. If you stop, you can forget about moving and turn off your engine for a good five or ten mins.

I too have been to Mumbai, Kolkata and Delhi. After Kolkata, I think Bangalore has the worst traffic.

                      1. And you can skid very badly and get run over by a following vehicle. The deadliest stretch is the Rafi Ahmed Kidwai road - Eliot Road - Mullick Bazar - Park Circus which has not been concreted so far. The lines here protude quite high above the road surface making this stretch a nightmare for the riders during peak hours. I had skid once here, fortunately the taxi behind me applied brakes in time or I would have been hit.

                      2. Your tire can get locked in creeks in the tram line. Specially the 2.75 tyres. You can loose both the tyre and the tube while taking the tyre out of the creek.

                      3. The hot (during summer noons) steel line has sharp edges at points (owing to non-maintenance) which can cut your tyre like an army knife. You know the consequences.

If you are riding in Kolkata on a road with a tram line - keep one eye on the ground and one eye on the road and try to keep leftmost like a bicycler. Go slow. Once the tram lines are over, you can come back to your form.

The worst bridge in B'lore is the Banaswadi bridge!

Busus coming from Old Madras road through Bypanahalli can't get onto that bridge because they havn't constructed an approach road to get onto it. So they go parallel to the bridge on a narrow road, go ahead, take a U-turn from inside one petrol pump and then get onto the bridge. To top it all the bridge can just let two buses pass side by side! Single lane. You have to see to believe the mess it creates at peak hours. People coming down and getting on the bridge have to stop because of the other vehicles taking a U-turn, big pile up and what not. Unheard of when I lived in Bombay.

Constructed in much the same way, i.e zero practical use, is the K.R. Puram flyover. If you are coming from Marathhalli there is no direct road to goto K.R. Puram. And would you believe it was given the Best Bridge award recently by some association of architects. Kids build better bridges with plastic building blocks.

I think B'lore guys will hijack this thread

hehe the funniest flyover is the one between richmond town and lalbagh road, haha its actually manned!! i mean its like a signal on a flyover

Second is marathalli bridge to whitefield, u start at signal go over flyover and end in another signal, LoL its just elevated road. why do they call it a flyover.
