This is no joke, it actually happens all the time. The highway has usually high speed traffic. I always have my hairs stand whenever I see light turn to amber. I know I'll be slowing down to stop, but I also know the traffic behind will be speeding up. I always try to stop at the extreme left whenever possible in such situation. Once, had one scooter missed me by inches and rammed a autorickshaw that way in front of me.
actually this came as a question during my learning license test and i answered that u slow down when u see the amber light............. to my surprise i was wrong the answer was that u speed up!!

Indian road laws are extremely stupid!!.
Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming, 'Wow! What a Ride!' -Hunter S. Thompson
