They dont allow Helmets in theatres?? I heard this kind of thing for the first time. Did you ask them why it is not allowed inside??

Was at Taj ManSingh, Delhi for an interview and the people there are aware of the fact but was not allowed on the bike. Was asked to park anywhere but the hotel. They build a hotel worth thousands and don't have a parking for 2 wheels.

Maybe they are scared that the hotel will become like a walk-in Dhaba if bikes are allowed, utter senseless.

I live in Dubai and every time we ride into a any hotel including a 5 star, we get to park right at the entrance along exotic super cars. I guess we are fortunate in that sense.

What you should so is start putting up reviews individually on "trip advisor". Most hotels take Trip Advisor very seriously and the management of all these hotels watch it very carefully.

Of course, you should remember that since superbikes or any of the expensive bikes are lower in number they might consider it. But if you plan to ride into a hotel on any other regular bikes, they might use their discretion to not allow as the sheer volume of these bikes is enough reason.

          Just my 2 cents.

We are Bikers, For Gods sake!!! Not some outlaws!!

It is sad but true. Biking and Bikers in general are looked down in our society. A trend that can be visible all around us daily. Every moment you step out of your house in your two wheels, you are made to feel the same. Four wheelers and other bigger vehicles push you off the road as if you are not supposed to be there.

The word around is, that Bikers ride zig-zag, cutting in and out of traffic in a highly irresponsible way endangering everyone around, as if all four wheelers drive like they are saints. The way cars are driven in our country, cutting in and out of traffic, lane hopping; the only thing restraining them in doing so being their bigger footprint than Bikes, it does nt fall short of Irony.

However, the reason for me starting this thread is not that. I ll come to it, albeit a little later. I used to drive our family car, the swift. My attitude those days used to be same. When ever I used to see Bikers darting in and out, I used to dread them. Hardly did I realize that the only thing that was restraining me or other cars from trying out the same was definitely our larger footprints and the inability to dart into small gaps like bikes can. Today as I ride a bike and observe cars around me, I realized my folly.

Please note, I am here not trying to justify or glorify bikers riding irresponsibly, rather trying to point out that this is not the issue with just bikers, but the whole vehicular population of our country.

Ever since I made my decision to buy a bike, it was looked down upon by people around me.

My friends asked, "Itne din car chalane ke baad tujhe yeh biking ka keeda kahaan se aa gaya?" (After driving cars for so long how come you suddenly got bitten by this biking Bug?)

My family and my relatives frowned,"Is this a stage where you buy a bike? Go and get yourself a car."

I was surprised, I am at a stage where I can buy a car just to shut these people up, and probably will do that in 6 months time. But why?? Why should people be bothered about my decision to buy a bike? As if it is a step backward?

This attitude gets carried over and can be seen in all walks of our life. Recently for a Team Bhp meet in Delhi, me and my wife decided to ride my bike. Our plan was to go and catch Spidey after that. But to our dismay, we found that the venue apparently does nt allow Helmets in . Nor do they provide a safe place for keeping your helmets. You need to lock them on your bike. Little do they realize the problems of doing so.

In a city where both rider and pillion are legally obliged to wear helmets while riding, I find this treatment appalling. A city that is struggling to cope up with the increased number of vehicles on road has this attitude which compels people to get their cars out rather than the bikes. I was hence forced to take my car to the meet.

Another incident I came across yesterday. I had gone to pick my wife up from her office in Cyber city Gurgaon and while I was waiting in front of the building, the guard comes and tells me I am not supposed to stand there.
I asked him if stopping and standing are not allowed, how come so many cars are standing there. At that he said cars are allowed but two wheelers are not and asked me to stand a little further.

I said I have no issues to stand a little further, but pray tell me where. If you are hinting at the point that just because I got my two wheels instead of my four wheesl, you wont let me wait here, well that I m not going to take standing down.

He said, "Sir I m sorry, but we have instructions."
I asked him to put me across to the guy who had given him instructions not to let two wheelers stand there but doesn't have issues with four wheeler who hog more road space than I do.

I asked him," don't you feel it is ridiculous that tomorrow if I come in my car and hog more space than I do now, you ll let me stand here, but not today? "

He said " Sir I m sorry but pleas it s a request, just move a little forward."

Since He was requesting I moved a little forward and parked my bike bang in front of a group of security personnel. I wanted them to ask me move from there so that I could escalate the matter higher up, if required even to DLF. However nobody had any issues.

BTW my wife reached in just under 2 minutes and I left the scene much earlier than the cars who were waiting there from much earlier. But the incident did cause a thought to linger in my mind.

"Am I an outlaw now? I just wanted to bike for Gods Sake!!"
                Its not always about speed.

Bikers everywhere are treated like the untouchables.

And I don't blame people for treating us so badly.

Look around on the road. I hate these freaks on two wheels as much as anyone else. Responsible bikers are too rare to make an impression on the average non-biker mind.
Biking is not about what you have between your legs, its all about how well you use it!!!!!!!

Its sad but that is the way the bikers are treated. Negative impressions generally are attributed to the whole community/group; if a few bikers are crack-nuts, all bikers are same.

                          riding is sad in india...

all i could realize is people here are seperated by financial status and not by the personality traits of a human.. very few are like minded people and we all are here..

what you stated the incident is exactly my point...

drive to point A : take a moped.. police and guard shouts from corner and says move ahead.

drive to point A : take a spanking new cbr/ninja.. guard and cops looks at amusement asks for the price... stunned.. and then explains why the vehicle needs to be moved..

drive to point A: take a car... no one bothers or infact they request you . question is WHY ?? just coz everyone in this country respects Money more than anything....

since the day i have been riding 10+ years now... always felt the alien treatment... as if Riding is no good.. car owner needs to be honoured..

they never realized that inspite of being capable of running a big sedan we still run on 2 wheels for the passion of it.. save loads of fuel and pollution.... a lot more space and the time that can never be recovered..

people dont want to change here.. all i plan is to move outta here settle somewhere so i can ride all my life without being treated that sad...

went to a hotel recently they have a drive-n drop way.. same way 2 wheels arent allowed.. why.. so retard made those rules for he must be driving a car...

forget bout the attitude of the cops or guards or any legal body..
how bout the people. very few understand that whether 2/4 wheels. road tax is being paid by either of em but then they are cornered. looked down upon.

soon time will change things.. i am no sot upset by the fuel price rise but more happy that coming few years half of those idiots will be back on 2 wheels or public transport...
