      well welding is not that big deal..i leant it my workshop lab in very first sem at collage... if i happen to have tools then i would have saved atleast 150\-.
      the machenic who did this is specialised in it! he own a shockup repain shop! he did this countless time on many such bikes in city!
      By "specialised" I hope you meant someone with expert knowledge and access to TIG welding tools because frankly, an ordinary weld job is not strong enough to withstand the forces transmitted on to the suspension.

      • ya bro that ordinary weld may not b strong enough compare to that 2 place weld on shock up rod..
        what my mech had done is he welded in full circumference .. @ both the joint!

        @neon
        may b ur friend asked mech to increase 2 much height! 1" or 0.75 " [lenght of welded piece] is what most suitable for uni acc to my mech!

        tell ur friend to do any seat mod to decrease height of seat so that center of gravity may go low! it will give u more balance!

                wow bike looks awesome in this color.
                if you could have extended the blue trip to the tank as well then it would have looked much better. My Take only....

                      • Buffing brake/clutch levers

                        Has someone used any solution for buffing the levers? I need to remove the spotty black paint and bring out the base metal, without any corrosion. Apache levers are available cheap, but buffing would be cheaper. Sandpaper would ruin the feel of the levers, so other suggestions are welcome.

                        PS: Got a SMS from BikeIndia saying brake fluid can remove the paint if it falls on the tank. Can it do the same for the levers?

                                u can use ur exp of lapping heatsinks [if u belong to that catagory then .. ] .. u can first use rough sand paper to scrap paint and then use finer one like 600 grit or smthin to smooth it out ..

                                i did same for the paint on rim , which i painted but need to scrap for sm reason but the rim got rusted ..then i painted it back with black !

                                btw if u happen to found any liquid for the same let me know
