      • Hello Guys,

Well, this thread has been dormant for a while now, and nothing much happening...
I had earlier mentioned about my visually modified Yamaha FZ16, after the paint job, my next task was to create and install angel eyes (halo rings as some may call it)
Today was a great day for me, I managed to return from Mumbai early morning (had gone to Mumbai to get the Acrylic Rods) which for some reason are not available in Goa!
I have create my own angel eyes and have successfully installed them on my FZ. Many thanks to the very well talented and versatile Shekar!!

The idea of making the angel eyes came from an external website (guys can google it out) I am writing all this because if you people are really into making that machine of yours stand out in the crowd, you gotta have a hard heart because opening the dome. It is a time consuming and hot process which also includes breaking and cracking noises!
I used a regulated Hot air blower with patience and managed to get the sealant melt inside so the dome could be seperated from the transparent glass of the bike.
Posting some pictures tonight, you will notice a fair, head shaven curious guy using the hot air blower, that is me

Secondly, some of the pictures may not give you a clear view, will try gettin better shots tomorrow and lastly, apologies for not getting the entire process in pictures. I was so engrossed in making this project of mine work that I forgot about pictorially logging it.

Here we go, I assume that all of it and yes, please do comment!! it is very valuable for me as I can know what and where I miss!!

and FYI my next project is Yamaha Scorpion Engine cowl!

        Regards,

        Roadfreak

          • The FZ kick rod attachment is available in India also. If you want it. Just gotta remove the rubber blanking and mount it. Good for FZs that stall or dont start on the battery.

              • @roadfreak: Neat DIY job done there bro, i feel the angel eyes would look better if you get rid of the black vinyl on the headlamp, because one cant make out that theres an angel eye within from a distance, thus nullifying your effort. I too was on the hunt for the acrylic rods but couldn't find them in my area. Could you tell me the place you picked it up from? and the price if possible, would be helpful for the other DIYers out here. And ya do post the pics of the lamp clicked in the daytime.

                • @Ripper!!
Thanks for your advice, our team is workin on gettin a new stickering job on our Fz's headlamps, Appreciate it!!

Yes, and for your acrylic rods,
this is the address in Mumbai, its hardly 2 stations from where your location shows,

                  go to :

                  Acry Plus
shop number 7, Narendra Coop. Housing Soc.SV Road,
                  near 24 Karat
                  Jogeshwari
                  Phone: 022267810850

They are very Cheap and easy to Create, the only hitch is the freakin headlamp dome removal, but if you have a proper oven(where mom bakes cakes in ) it is easy to remove, but make sure you have a temp gauge and a piece of ur headlamp and the sealant for testing purposes!
I used 300 degrees for 4 minutes and was able to seperate my headlamp after a little effort!
and for your LED's use 3 volt LED's wid a 270 Ohm 1 watt resistor, so that it does not heat up your unit.
I got extra Angel eyes and I manufacture them for a price, if you or any of the guys interested!

                  Regards,

                  Roadfreak!

                  • Hello Vinoob and the others!!
I am posting some more pictures of the Angel eyes on my FZ!
I dunno why but the visual effect one gets in pictures and physically seeing the rings is not the same!
Anyways I am working on it!
and Ripper! I have considered your advice and am working on it!

I also create angel eye halo rings for Yamaha R15 and the new Frazer for a cheap price, If you want to make them yourself, I have 100% advice and help from my side!!
Lastly, I am just another person who creates and tries mods on his bike, I have no grudges and no envy, and I will help help bikers in need, You can take ideas and say to the world that it is you, but remember the one who cleans shit from his bike with his bare hands is a real bike lover, and I do that!!

                    Here are some pictures!
