        • The ECU can be sent to anyone in the country or outside the country.
Currently the ECU is being tested on the race bike being run at the MRF International Challenge. There is considerable difference in the are under the curve with back to back dyno tuning as well. I wont quote ANY figures, all will be proven over 0-100 times and laptimes which is the best reference. End of the day, useable power is what matters, not a spike of extra power at a narrow unusable point of the graph. Yet we've managed to get higher peak over stock.
I havent done a fuel efficiency test, but it all cases it looks like it will remain the same or a fraction better on a bone stock bike .

Also, did a dyno test with my custom airfilter for the R15 and there is a gain of nearly 0.3bhp straight away and there is good increase in the power band right from idle. With a conical filter and what not, there is a massive drop in power.

              • Boy love toys

Ok... this is definitely NOT recommended... safety should always come first!!! But still....

Today, while returning from an errand, I came across couple of R15s and a P220... these guys started buzzing me , maybe the sound of the FFE provoked them into thinking that a gauntlet needs to be thrown down ... I ignored them for most part... till I reached the highway, where there is a 2 kms straight stretch which was totally empty...

Once again they come from behind and buzz me and pass smart ass comments... since the stretch was totally empty, I shift down and opened the throttle and.... it rockets to 136 kms at 10,000 rpm (the road had a slight incline and a cross wind of about 3 - 4 kms)... the bike screams like a banshee!!! It hits the rev limiter with such ease that the rev limiter might as well have been set at 5,000 rpm... After running for about one and half kms, I slowed down and waited for the guys to pass me.... wait, wait, wait,..... then I see them in the rear view mirror, running all out.... well pass me they did, with crestfallen faces , did not even glance at me . I am sure that they will think twice before they buzz someone else... they must be scratching their heads wondering what the heck was that??? ... we boys do love our toys, don't we...

Even at 10,000 rpm, there is still a lot of power in reserve, in fact, it feels under geared... now eagerly waiting for Joel's ECU... I am loving it!!!!

                • Bit off topic though, but even I faced a similar situation. As my 220 dtsi is equiped with a FFE and a reworked head, it makes a loud sound. Today while I was on my way to my friends place, I accidentally pissed off a Cruze owner. I was on a 8 lane highway when I decided to overtake a Cruze from the right. With the FFE and reworked Head the 220 now easily crosses 11000 rpm with ease, and when it does it makes sure to let everyone know about it. The Cruze owner did not like me overtaking him, and then he wanted to show the power of his diesel rocket as it was a pretty straight highway. With a stock 220 you can never dream of racing against a Cruze on a Straight highway with little traffic.

There we go, a speed breaker came, after we made sure we cross it at the same time we tried to out accelerate each other. With my bike now reaching 107 in 3rd Gear, I was quite ahead all the way to 120 in 4th gear, and then had to slow down as there was traffic, and a bike will always outperform a car there.

All this while, the Cruze was not far behind, hardly a bike length behind.

                  • I am coming from Madras motor race track. In group 165cc category ,the bike equipped with JOEL annas ECU came first that too a huge margin of 7 whooping second. My god.I was speechless...What a huge difference. The rider(Sarath kumar) was so fast.
From second lap onwards he was miles ahead of second.

                    Joel anna I salute you.

, as Tom Skerritt said it in 'Top Gun'... 'up there, with the best of the best'... are we not lucky to have GP class engineer amongst us??? Still people talk about K&N filters, Iradium plugs and what not.... it sure takes all kinds to make this world go round...

                      • Rightly said. They will spend thousand of bucks in stickering, and destroying the engine but will hesitate to go for a real performance.
The Performance of ECU can be clearly seen.If the rider would have pushed more hard then the gap would have been more.
Since I have seen many 165cc race at the same track, but have never seen such a easy victory that too with such a huge margin.

                        • Today was the maiden race with my first prototype R15 ECU. While the entire grid was running their respective works and setups, I only had my magic box to showcase the whole track and nothing fancy. The bike clad in a matt-black paint job, was the target for every rider to chase. After most knowing what I've been cooking over the last few weeks, it was quite clear to most that I was going for it for sure. The grid had the highest ever Group D entries - A whooping 36 bikes. And every rider wants to win the race.
Lights off and the ECU equipped bike with Sarath on board, simply rocketed away. With a lead of nearly 3 secs per laps and a difference of nearly 15 secs through the 7 laps race from the second finisher, the message was clear. The bike was pulling speeds effortlessly and recorded the fastest laptime ever done by a Group D race bike at the Chennai motor circuit. 2:09. The bike which finished 2nd did just under 2:12.
The ECU talks for itself. Also our very own Killer has his own experience to share since he was also in the race on a bike which was prepared in a jiffy and yet managed a 4th place finish in race 1.
Looking forward for race 2 tomorrow.

Next up, is a fuel efficiency test next week. I'm 99% sure, its already about 5% more fuel efficient over a stock ECU on a stock bike with the extra power. From my road tests and abusive 0-100 tests, it seems more fuel efficient and after logging AFRs v/s stock, its clearly evident. This is going to be ultimate package for a stock spec R15.
1.2 secs quicker to 100kph on bone stock bike with the ECU alone.

This is not the modified class. That we won already last round for the year 2010. This is the Group D - Stock spec engine class.
