  • Boric acid + engine oils, does it work out??

    Hi,

I wanted to share this with you all..
I was browsing through another famous automobile forum more oriented towards cars & a guy in that had tested using boric acid + engine oil on his esteem's engine. Later he had tried with Boric acid + petrol, petrol + 2t oil.
He had mentioned that Using boric acid with oil is the cheapest & most effective way of smoothening the ride & reducing friction drastically.

Its like this, boric acid (3gms) + 1 litre of oil when mixed & put in the engine, under such high pressure & temperature, Boric acid is transformed as Boric oxide which is tougher than the metal used in engine itself.

    Few points summarised -

    * Its already in the size of 4-15 microns, so passing through oil filter is not an issue. It sticks to the surfaces of metals & reduces grinding of each other.
    * Engine performance improves due to tighter compression as all cavities, crevices are filled by lubricating boron particles which restores original compression.
    * oil changing time can be doubled easily as minute metal parts which makes oil thick is the past thing.
    * Engine oil additives are either sulpher or chlorine or graphites which are very toxic in nature & also when they work in extreme temparature their vapours are very very toxic at exhaust end.
    * Since boron treated metal surface becomes corrosion resistant. Most wear & tear also occurs due to acid formation in combustion process.
    * Boron particles react with water vapour to form boric oxide layers which sticks with metal surfaces making a covalent bond. These layers doesnt allow metal surfaces to contact each other, like in carrom board. They are high temparature, pressure resistant, also they are very hard, infact harder then metal surface beneath it. So metal to metal contact is very much eliminated reducing the friction which is responsible for generating more heat inside combustion chamber. Acidic formation by combustion process is taken care as no metal surface is exposed as earlier.

My Experience With adding Boric Acid in Engine oil - Team-BHP

Now, my question is, has anyone tried this treatment??
When this is added, its claimed that it makes engine oil smoother & it sticks to surfaces. In that case, will it make the clutch slippery?
Is this recommended, because its claimed that its bio degradable & the outcome is non-toxic?

P.S - Mods can edit the post if I am not supposed to post external site's link in here.

      Sounds interesting,

Cars have dry clutch where as most of the bikes has the wet clutch

There's another thread about using BORIC ACID IN PETROL in the same site, thread starter is the same guy. I guess we can think of using that. Sorry guys I'm not able to give any link to that.
And I've used boric acid+fuel in my kinetic Honda. (fuel: means petrol+recommended ratio of 2t)
results are: lowered smoke, lowered vibes, extremely smoth engine and there was no carbon build up at the tip of spark plug.
Cons are it won't mix with petrol you have to sake the scoot so that it can distribute in well ratio with petrol in the tank or else the Boric acid power will settle to the bottom and you have to Get your carb cleaned 'cause it will also get stuck into the jets....

          1. ) wondered as that plays a vital role why none of the major oil manufacturers tried it till ?

          2. ) ask the actual guy who invented this mixture to prove and patent right the technology ?

we should see how it helps and spoils the engine in a long run

Since boron treated metal surface becomes corrosion resistant, that means parts wont mate continually and it will keep the parts like in the new bike

tell me engine core components such as bore and piston matting is good for the bike or not ?

@ Honda_CBF, as you listed the demerits it sounds if you don't shake properly it will spoil vital components if you are always a good cocktail maker continue shaking
          else
sooner you will have to pay price for changing the components you
          mentioned.

            boric acid.....

Hey guys, there is already a product by the name "MOTOR SILK: in us......which uses boric acid and is already patented.

MotorSilk, LubriSilk, Biodegradable Engine & Motor Treatment Lubricants, Motor Silk, Boron CLS Bond Lubricants - Evergreen America Corporation

Now,i request you not to use the boric acid as this is confined only to "DRY CLUTCH" transmission.

But for cars/heavy vehicles this is great product,as one treatment lasts 1,25,000 miles...wow

If your filter in the petrol line is fine grade then the boric acid will form a paste like form and plug fuel flow...assuming it does reach the carburetor, then the jets will not be able to flow better as it accumulates in the float bowl, leading to lean AFR , and blockage later.
It is better to use it in the engine oil in 4 stroke vehicles .
This is something which from the World War II the Japs and the Germans had been trying to perfect. They understood the working but never got the particle size right.Argone Labs have done a lot of work in this...here is a link:

I had ,over the years, used both in my bikes and cars and also in my friend's bikes and cars, with good result. The important thing is to get good quality Boric Acid .Never try in petrol line or with OIL tank of 2t in TWO stroke bikes. It will become like a paste and stop flow.

it didn't mixed well because i didn't followed the procedure.
Boric acid is soluble in alcohol, so one have to get acetone or ethanol & mix Boric acid in it, & then this solution in petrol. Then it will work w/o problem.
One question is RUM soluble in petrol?

2.it forms a layer of boron on inside components, think of it blocking small but crucial passage ways for oil.

I have used boric acid +castrol engine oil in my earlier bike.. but did not see any major change in the performance..

IMHO, i think this combination make the oil a much thinner.

After trying this combination , i shifted to Motul mineral oil and bike was very smooth(do not know was it the effect of oil or boric acid+old oil) which had sticked to the engine to make it smooth.
                        RIP Marco

need your help sir I'm unable to mix Boric acid with petrol. What's your procedure?

DO NOT use it with Petrol..it will lead to problems of petrol lines getting clogged.

I had used it in the KB100 and now in ZMA without problem....but the mix and quantity are critical....would advise against it's usage if you have doubts..
