Was just wary of over-stressing a non - OEM boreOriginally posted by nathanvighnesh View Post@shrjun - Joel had specified 500kms/below 6000 rpms for the running in. Just keep varying your rpm's and after 500kms do start to stretch the rpm's.
. 6000 rpms equates to around 80 kmph on the speedometer,right ?
Could you tell me the running-in schedule of the stock engine as per the TVS manual ? I can't seem to find mine right now.
By the way,how many kms have you run on the new bore and are you using a FS engine oil ?

I don't see one, it's a small thing at the end of the can with 2 allen key bolts.Originally posted by shrjun View PostGot the break welded.
Is there a dB killer on this exhaust ?Beware of Bread, don't say I didn't warn you!
More than 98 percent of convicted criminals are bread eaters !
Statistics show that more than 75 % of violent crimes are committed within 24 hours of eating bread !
Bread is known to be extremely addictive. Subjects deprived of bread and given only water, actually begged for bread after just two days !
Bread has been proven to kill. Scientists have now uncovered alarming evidence that 100% of the people who eat bread will eventually die !

if possible you can meet up with me and ride my 180(177cc) and compare it... while i ride you 172Originally posted by shrjun View PostI have driven around 125 kms now with the RTR big bore installed. There seem to be no problems either with the installation or the kit as of now.
I am not as sure about the Motoman's method of running-in as Stefanm seems to be http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/pit-stop...-hola-r17.html so I'm going with the method mentioned in the RTR manual.
There has been only a single instance where I went to about 6k on the tacho while overtaking and I could feel a definite increase in power. The engine on the whole feels torquey-er and less stressed. The big bore also seems to have had a calming effect on the crackling sound of the FFE - the exhaust note now has a nice bass beat rather than the brassy tin-can note that it had earlier.
Can't wait to pit the bike against an unsuspecting stock bike

and yea... 7k rpm on rtr 180 is 91 kmph...
so, you must be doing 80 @ 6k rpm on joeled 160...Last edited by saipranav; 09-27-2011, 09:10 PM.Apache 180

@Joel
Came to know that your FFE's would soon have the Race Concepts logo and would be available in carbon fiber options as well (firstly for the YZF R-15).
Would the same be available for the Apache RTR 180, later on? Please say Yes
The Apache is ever willing to red line each cog, but the Rider ain't. Enjoy RTR, Safely. Period.

Hey guys
I've just started using Joel's tuned free flow exhaust for my RTR 180. First of all, Joel shipped me the item (very neatly & securely packed) within one week of my order
Not ridden much, but here is a noob's review of the exhaust with dB killer.
Looks- The short and stubby (up swept plus angled a little to the outside) canister sure looks business and smashing as well
Sound- Even with dB killer, it's pure music for an enthusiast. It's not too loud while giving everything expected from a FFE. Gives goosebumps while blipping the throttle at idle (just for the fun of it) and down shifting.
Performance- Yes, the gains are best felt at low to mid rpm on an RTR. Down shifts has been minimized, further. Power delivery has become more crisper, smoother, and quicker through out the rev range. The tacho needle is looking composed even when it hovers at higher revs.
Ok, i know the sound quality and performance will reach another level with the dB killer removed. But at least for the time being, i'am 100% satisfied with it installed
Using a Pro tuned FFE (not a slip-on but a full system) was always a dream for me. But, Joel has made that dream come true. Now i'am enjoying Next Level Performance from my RTR 180. And the bang you get for that hard earned buck, can't be compared.
Thank's a lot Joel, for all the pain and effort you've put through in designing and fabricating unique FFE's especially for Indian performance 4 stroke singles. All my best wishes to you
Update. 14/12/2011.
Done some more miles with the tuned FFE. Very much satisfied with the performance gain as well as build quality.Last edited by Rtrlover83; 12-14-2011, 09:56 PM.The Apache is ever willing to red line each cog, but the Rider ain't. Enjoy RTR, Safely. Period.

Do we need to re-jet or any kind of tuning on carb side, if using FFE??
Plz, hold your laughs.. I know it's silly to ask..

That's a genuine query Bro. I've asked Joel about it. He said no need to re-tune, it's just Plug and PlayOriginally posted by Honda_CBF View PostDo we need to re-jet or any kind of tuning on carb side, if using FFE??
