I am using FFE in stock form only and I also do have the DB killer but it's shape is kind of of distorted.
Here it is what happened that while riding on highway the DB killer popped out and a truck ran over it.It became a plain sheet of steel after that.
I went to some welding shop and got it correct as much as possible but after that I haven't got the performance at par with as it was before.

Well I am pretty much thankful for the Ffe filling info that you shared with me .Maybe I can give it a try.

One query 0- For how long will 1 FFE filling last?

Bro.. it depends on the quality of the glass wool you use for the filling..

Do give the ffe repacking a try, you will notice a lot of difference, exactly what Juris's thread name says, from noise to music

About the life of repacking, initially I used to use only glasswool and that lasted for about 1200kms for me, did about eight of these repackings. Tedious work to keep repacking,

Then I tried ceramic wool like the one mentioned in juris's thread. With ceramic wool the noise seemed pretty much good for about 1800-2000kms ,did many of these too. Tired of the work for repacking I didn't bother to repack the ffe for the past 4000kms , but recently after loosing my baffle and the simultaneous occasion of me being bit by the riding bug again, something had to be done about tht harsh screeching from the ffe

Thing is both glass wool and ceramic wool are mainly for use in static objects and their use in a vibrating environment makes them degrade quite fast and hence the frequent repacking. Recently read about durability of fibre glass wool and luckily I could source some hence gave it a shot, done about 1200kms so far and it still sounds sweet apparently fibre glass wool should last for an eternity but well let's see

Hi!! I am new to this thread.
I refilled my RC ffe like 5 times till now in 20k kms, I used to refill mineral wool which used to last good 5k kms and then the noise instead or sound used to come. A very close friend of mine who manufactures glasswool and heat absorption material like ceramic bricks and all, he suggested me to go in for ceramic blanket which can hold upto 1200 degrees centigrade. So now after that I haven't tried it on the highway, but within city limits the end can doesnt burn ur or ur chicks leg at all and the sound is also quite bassey, the only issue I have is that when I refilled the ceramic blanket last time I had put in normal amount of blanket inside but within 10 days the blanket started coming out of the holes that are there in the pipe, plus the exhaust note became veru trebleish, so I again opened it and saw that 1/4 of it was gone, so this time I pushed and packed the blanket so tight that even the end part wasnt going inside. Hope this time it stays well. When I went for the BIC track day then I had got some yellow colored glasswool filled in emergency as I rode down from kanpur to delhi at continously 120 110 kmph and by the time I opened the can there was not even a single thread of that glasswool inside it was all gone, gone completely. I was shocked to see that. How is it possible? Can u please help me out with this issue?

I am no expert on this matter, however my two cents would be that the extreme vibration and lack of barrier between the ffe's inner pipe and the glass wool (I say under the assumption that you only stuffed glasswool and didn't use a mesh first to protect it) made the glass wool disintegrate and get out of the ffe in that short a distance.

Please refer to Juris's thread for the right procedure on repacking a ffe. It will make a huge difference wrt durability.

Btw great durability you had earlier, with the 5k change period. Could you please throw some light on the process of repacking you used then...

i just want to know if glass wool is completely burnt out will there be any drop in performance
my ride rtr160 with RC bigbore, modified head intake

am yet to followJuris method

You should not use a stock exhaust as the bigbore creates more compression and the stock exhaust wont let the compression release properly and ur BB might malfunction just like all other have done in their bikes and then blame Joel for his work. No offence to u mate!! Switch back to your FFE and replace the glasswool, it takes mere 20 mins to change the wool.
People just get the big bore and they want massive gains out of it without knowing the consequences of it, for higher compression you need a ported head to handle the pressure and a FFE to make it even better.

^^ yes i do understand that i was forced to it because its screeching a lot and am not getting enough time procure good quality glasswool and...it need paint too its rusting like hell so i planned to do both things

but just clarify me will there be any drop in performance with glass wool burnt out
or was it my feeling or it might need some tuning......

Did anyone here use Raceconcepts 180cc engine kit in their HUNK, CBZ Xtreme or Unicorn?
What is included in the kit?
After installing the Kit what will be the power and torque of HUNK, CBZ Xtreme or Unicorn?

Glasswool wont do any good or bad to your performance, although the screeching noise can surely irritate u a lot, I rode my bike for 600 kms without anything inside (completely hollow) imagine my state at that time. Try finding ceramic glasswool as it has more heat tolerance and gives u a very bassey sound.

hmm after some tedious search for ceramic wool has paid off thanks to juris
now bike is lot more fun to drive but there is some twist in tale

before this refilling i remove RC FFE and gone to stock exhaust due to screeching noise
with stock exhaust engine able to produce good amount of low end torque but will have some hesitation
to go upward of 5k rpm and there is considerable vibrations ( off course it will be in every rtr)

with RC FFE it will rev more freely and there is no vibrations
but low end torque is poor only the power comes at above 5k

so is can be tuned... or is it normal
because of low end speed fuel efficiency also varies , i cont complain it nor praise it

with stock exhaust 40-42 with load conditions(pillion with heavy traffic)
48-50 without load conditions

with RC FFE 39-41 with load conditions(pillion with heavy traffic)
42-44 without load conditions

bike is rtr 160
odo is 55k
15k with RC FFE
6k with RC bigbore , tuned head

Upjet your carb and ull get what you want, although the FE might drop a bit but ull have the low end torque back with a boost, my 220 gives amazing power all through the rev meter and a good burst post 6k rpm.
I had the same problem before I rejet my carb but after rejetting it became more peppy and fun in the city and a beast on the highway.
