Update on tuned FFE for RTR 180
Done some more miles with the goodie. Very satisfied with the performance gain as well as build quality.
Yeah i'am gonna say it, while my bike is parked in the garage, still can't get my eye's off her, just keep's on looking. The exhaust just gels in so perfectly with this beautifully designed bike. Add to that the catchy pearl white color.
Thanks to Joel for making her even prettier!!!
P.S. Lately, under super sane riding of which 75% was inside the city, got a fuel economy of 48km/ltr

Block and piston for big bore - FZ 16
Hey Joel,
Do you also ship a new block with accompanying parts for a FZ-16 big bore job? I need to use my bike pretty much everyday and cannot send it (block) over for the re-bore.
Thanks !

All the best Joel....!
Personally, your support and guidance has always been spot on and helpful, never the less, all i see is,maybe you can elaborate a bit instead of the short precise replies

lol. I really dont know where this topic head.
But on my personal front, yes we are getting more prompt with our mailers, orders and developments. More videos and lot more coming soon. Every feedback is valid and we will always work on it. Now that our racing season has come to an end, there is no looking back.
We already strated our day today with a CBR250 under the knife

Hi sir tiara,Originally posted by tiara1974 View Post"makeshift" ?.. tsk no.. had it not been remilled the compression rate would be too high.. and you have to use 2nd block gasket.. not to mention valve and piston kissing each other.. sorry the "makeshift" look since the piston ingredient doesnt have unpocketed structure so we have to work on what we have..
Since you bring the discussion up to here, I will say that no, the reason why there is the first milling of the valve pockets, in the first place, is not for adjusting the compression ratio but because this piston is already milled, as standard, for opposite valves, while the FZ-16 has offset valves, which did oblige to mill two more pockets, slightly extending the existing ones, thus creating a shape on the piston which is not the best one would have designed for both the gas swirl and the flame front propagation.
Of course: without these pockets for the offset vales, piston and valves would "kiss" each other....tsk tsk tsk...bad behavior
....and we all understand that's why these pockets are there...not the original ones!
That these "double pockets" are taken in account for the combustion chamber re-work in order to have the right compression ratio: of course, but wouldn't this piston have had this "extra" original milling done, the works on the combustion chamber would be done by taking some metal elsewhere off the head (or the piston) in order to keep the compression ratio at the right value, and best gas swirl/ flame front possible.
As you said (privately) to me: this will not impede too much since is it not a high-comp "dome" piston. Nevertheless: I would have appreciated that the first milling was not done in the first place, and this piston be machined to exactly the best possible shape with the offset valve sockets only.
The rest of your post is between Joel and you.Last edited by Lucky Luke; 12-12-2011, 07:20 PM.
