^ if so, go for woodlands... will hold good for a long time.
and personally, when i started using synthetic oil, my gear shifts were pretty smooth. almost feather touch. so that would save your shoe right?BIKER ...the thrill and sense of self-fulfilment is obtained from living a little dangerously!

ohkk .. ill try it .. thanks for the advise ///Originally posted by KwokFist View PostNo it wont lose grip... use the black tape that electricians use! and wrap a good amount of it around the toe shifter.. it'll hold just fine!. need be if its a metal shifter then get a rubber grip of any indian bike which has a rubber-covering over the toe-shifter... but even that wont save so wrapping a duct-tape is the best option to save ur shoes... unless u have enough moolah to buy expensive riding shoes.. or ones that wont wear out like this.
if u feel the tape would lose grip remove the old one and re-wrap it! simple!
for day to day riding u know wat u can do now

lolz .. it dosent spoil .. it generates a black patch on the area when its used ..Originally posted by pranay View PostI think he would have won even with heel-shifters..
I don't think toe-shifters spoil shoes. If you are wearing chappals when you are riding, well....

Using only your toe to change gears results in much faster gear changes, especially during up-shifting (1-down 4-up) where it is easier to push the lever up with the toe rather than pushing down with your heel. The toe gives more feedback too. Hence, on sports bikes, toe-shifter is installed. This is from my own experience.Originally posted by mithun View PostI'm now wondering what's so special about Toe-only shifter other than for the sole purpose of ruining shoes !

how about buying this>> Motorcycle gear shifter scuff mark shoe protector boot protectors helmet mohawks
I have been using this shoe protector for a while now and its the best protection i have ever bought for my shoes. Its real easy to put on and you can put it on any shoe. I used to wear old sock or an arm band on my shoe but any more.
check it out, its worth every penny.Last edited by juspritzx6r; 10-31-2008, 11:41 PM.02' Kawasaki zx6r ...16000 miles and counting

Looks odd. Best solution is to wrap black insulation tape or duct tape over the shift lever , as suggested earlier.Originally posted by juspritzx6r View Posthow about buying this>> Motorcycle gear shifter scuff mark shoe protector boot protectors helmet mohawks
