Re: General SBK Discussion Thread
Guys, do you need to clean and relube teh chain after a wash? The lube used is Motul chain Lube. It says teh lube is water resistant but I am doubtful about that.

Guys any slight chance that mt07 tracer would release here in a year or two? Yamaha don't have midrange bikes(specifically sport or naked tourers) unlike the other companies.
Kawasaki - ninja 650/versys 650
Honda - CBR 650F
Triumph - street triple,tiger 800
Benelli - 600i/600gt
Ducati - scrambler

Selling an Indian invoiced/registered SBK
Hi all,
Wasn't sure where to post, thought, this thread would be appropriate.
I'm selling my SBK; bought it in 2012, it'll turn 3 in August.
Pretty much finalised a deal to sell it, moving onto a more comfortable, more versatile machine, haven't decided which one yet.
Wanted to get advice on what all I need to get done in terms of paperwork.
There's a month left on the loan, so its currently hypothecated to the bank, which also reflects on the RC.
What else do I need to take care of? Be it buyer or seller

Re: General SBK Discussion Thread
You missed the "tax" part and moreover the value of Rs compared to the currency of the country its being imported.
Last I knew the import duty was 110% which increased to 144% (speculated)

Re: General SBK Discussion Thread
CKD vs CBU doesn't matter because the price difference exists in overseas markets as well. I can understand extra cost for higher quality materials/features and low sales volume but I can't wrap my head around how this translates to such a huge price difference.

You seriously dont know?Originally posted by chiron View PostThis might seem like a silly question but why do higher capacity bikes cost so much more? Does it cost manufacturers twice as much to build a 250cc bike as compared to a 150cc and six times as much for a 600cc?- CKD vs CBU Price : Most , rather 90% of these bigger bikes are CBUs so taxes are added extra
- Material used : Lets explain this with an example, ever checked the tyres of CBR250 and then of CBR1000RR, the make and the quality?
- Digitals and Electronics : Bigger bikes have far moire electronics = far more machinery involved while manufacturing.
- Last but not the least : Man Power involved

1. CBR600 was/is never officialy launched in India so no showroom can get it for you.Originally posted by Andy_kristine View PostI'm having an idea of buying the HONDA CBR 600RR and I want to know about the bike's average FE in city and in highways and will it be possible to get the 2007 version of this bike from the showroom now? or else am I just left only with the option of buying the latest version of it??
2. CBR600 comes under sub 800cc category so cost of importing it would be quite high.
3. High enough that you can buy the Daytona675 here legally or add 2-3 lacs more and get a liter class
P.S. : CBR600 and FE? You are joking right? By the way it would give around 18 in cities and 20-22 in highways. Runs on 97 Octane or higher and anything less would screw the engine.

I don't think 600RR would be available at the showroom as Honda haven't launched this bike officaially here.Originally posted by Andy_kristine View PostI'm having an idea of buying the HONDA CBR 600RR and I want to know about the bike's average FE in city and in highways and will it be possible to get the 2007 version of this bike from the showroom now? or else am I just left only with the option of buying the latest version of it??
