Where should one start looking to get a CBR600rr or R6? I searched the forum and all I see is people talking about most of the bikes being illegal and not worth the trouble.
I am a newbie when it comes to bike technology and all its features but I dont think thats a reason to not own a bigger bike. I have also been thinking of maybe the Ninja250r but somehow get this feeling that a 600cc will be better option.
As for the Hyosung GT650r and the Ninja 650r, they sure will be good bike and maybe value for money too but the idea of owning a R6 is too good to give up without even trying.

@xionite: Thanks for the info mate. But as of now I am trying to develop my knowledge about these bikes and get to know about the legality issues. I will am gonna be busy for the next 3-4months and after that I will be onto it.
In what price range you think I can get one of these? Not exactly a CBR600 F but a CBR600rr or R6.

SBK accident
After seeing this video i feel kinda uncomfortable coz it seems that he just made a small mistake of giving a bit too much throttle and the bike just lost it. Those who think jumping from a 250 to a 1000 is easy must watch this.
Two questions
1.Is it this easy to lose control on a SBK i mean this could happen to anyone right?
2.Does having Traction control help in avoiding such situations?

And I am thinking to jump to 1200cc from 150cc, straight away !!!Originally posted by Ghost11 View PostAfter seeing this video i feel kinda uncomfortable coz it seems that he just made a small mistake of giving a bit too much throttle and the bike just lost it. Well it is a kind of irresponsible attitude to give the stick to the bike just after coming out of showroom.
One should practice riding the vehicle for atleast 300 kms in every possible situations before going past 4500rpms on this kind of bikes.

It's quiet simple, don't try to run before you've learnt to walk... My first bike is a ninja 250r, not because I can't afford to buy a bigger one(moniteraly), but because I can't afford to buy a bigger one, according to my skill level... If you transition from a 150 - 250/400 - 600/1000 I don't see you having any problems... Cheers!!!Originally posted by Ghost11 View PostAfter seeing this video i feel kinda uncomfortable coz it seems that he just made a small mistake of giving a bit too much throttle and the bike just lost it. I think the concept of power and grip is quite simple for most bikers to understand. A wise biker can go from 150 to 1000 straight and live beyond it. I can give many examples, Rohit Giri being one of them.Originally posted by psych0hans View PostIt's quiet simple, don't try to run before you've learnt to walk... The thing is that while riding a smaller bike, you lose grip mostly while panic braking. When using Sbk's, just add that panic acceleration may also cause a loss of grip.
High performance results in tyre being under pressure, at the limits of grip. I remember being pillion to an RD 350, and its MRF Zapper tyres sliding and squealing like an injured dog!
Personally, if I have an Sbk later, I won't take it beyond 10% throttle and 3000 rpm on any surface, except the tarmac. No, not even on cemented roads.---
