Don't care about projector head lamps or any other missing stuff coz we can fix them aftermarket very easily.
Don't care about Fi too on a 200cc
Please give us ABS atleast as an option!!!
I know bajaj will add ABS to P200NS in couple of years as an upgrade but we want it in 2012 atleast as an optional expensive upgrade. KTM using Bosch ABS, so you have nothing to invent. Just make it as an additional option to make this the perfect bike of all.Last edited by nokstar; 02-02-2012, 12:24 PM.

If you're talking about KTM duke specifically, it doesn't have ABS either! Not for now atleast.Originally posted by nokstar View PostDon't care about projector head lamps or any other missing stuff coz we can fix them aftermarket very easily.

I know but higher dukes has ABS.Originally posted by shreeda View PostIf you're talking about KTM duke specifically, it doesn't have ABS either! Not for now atleast.
RTR ABS 180, CBR 250 ABS all here.
I like the pulsar 200NS looks, fuel economy with performance. 200cc is ideal for everyday use.
Only ABS keeping me looking at other brands
ABS will be expensive but please add it as an option when buying. Anyway in couple of years it will be there but want it in 2012

Hmm...accurate yardstick is a nice wordOriginally posted by HarishK View PostOkay, use your accurate Yardstick and tell me what are the bikes that fall in the same segment as P200NS?
The 200 NS will sell alongside the existing Pulsar lineup and will mostly be the choice of the typical power/style/wannabe consumer; similar people to the ones who preferred the FZ over the other 150/180 CC bikes. Segmentation of a particular product depends a lot on what is the target audience.
My reply above answers that; hopefully.Originally posted by HarishK View PostAny why is Mr Bajaj announcing that the new P200NS will compete with R15 and CBR250? Hope they are all in different segments?
The P135 has been selling in huge numbers; a glance at the latest figures will surely vindicate my point. XCD was a bike that did not sell...agreed but that is not the case with the P135.Originally posted by HarishK View PostThe point is, even with those breath taking pricing/power/mileage figure on papers the P135 was merely like another XCD135 in market.
A question that only time will tell. But for now, all the indicators seem to favor good sales for this new product.Originally posted by HarishK View PostLets see how the P200 sustains.Never argue with an idiot. He will drag you down to his level and then beat you with experience.

It seems some of us expected bajaj to launch a 250cc motorcycle. Why? I personally believe that creating a 200cc motorcycle is the right approach from bajaj as the first motorcycle in the series of motorcycles based on KTM engine. Creating the motorcycle of same cubic capacity with KTM 200 engine as the base would have less development cost and less risks for bajaj. A bigger engine would have increased the development cost and risk factors as well. Please correct me if i am wrong. So going for pulsar 200 NS is a safer bet. Pulsar 200NS will also be a learning experience for bajaj and will tell them how does it fare in day to day conditions after it starts to sell. There are several "firsts" in NS for bajaj so they have can't take too much risks with their first "all new" pulsar. And as Rajiv Bajaj has himself hinted clearly that bigger pulsars will come along with technical collaboration with KTM, what's the worry?Last edited by Satellite.kid; 02-02-2012, 01:59 PM.The Chronicles of Motorcycling - The Man, The Machine and The Road

Bajaj owns a big chunk of KTM.
Bajaj is bigger than KTM. Bajaj earns more than KTM. Bajaj sells more than KTM. Bajaj > KTM.
Bajaj put millions of dollars in KTM. It's because of bajaj, ktm has class leading products such as Duke 125 and 200 (who initially started as stunt 125 and race 125 on paper).
Lol People think of this as Hero and honda relationship. Hero is not the owner Honda. But Bajaj IS one of the owner of KTM. Bajaj put a millions of dollars in KTM and in trade they are getting tech and know how, nothing unfair.
Apple sources most of the components from Samsung and LG. Dell uses hard disks from seagates. Tata safari feature digital clock which is mainly made by Samsung. Asus graphics cards use chipsets from nVidia and AMD. German Skoda and VW imports CKD from Mexico and sell them here as German cars. All BMW Bikes use gear bikes which is made by Hero Moto Corp. Corollas and Almost all other old Jap cars started their life by reverse engineering German/europium cars. Intel used AMD chipsets and sold as Geniune Intel mobo. All apachi engines are suzuki fiero at the core. All use bearings from SKF. Motorola sources display from Samsung.
Nobody in this world makes products from ground up. Most of the times companies are dependent on competating companies for raw parts. It was like in 2000 AD they used to make products from scratch.
It's just pure business. Here I'm not a fan of Bajaj's but a rational person.
@sefanm: get the facts right before posting rubbish. Keep the quality of forum.
Looks like we have too many minors between us.
+1million.
You said it like a boss.__________________________________________________ __________________________________________________ _______

I guess, you have some personal issues here. Like others, you too are trying to downplay what has been done by an Indian manufacturer on their own.Originally posted by HarishK View PostOkay, use your accurate Yardstick and tell me what are the bikes that fall in the same segment as P200NS?

Lets see how the P200 sustains.
Have you seen OCC & other shows like it on the Discovery Turbo? Even when they purchase most of the parts from others but we still say "WOW!! What a bike ? " Why? because, even if they have sourced most of the parts together, they have given the bike a character of it's own. There are people who tune engines & performance boost too (like Joel). Don't we give credit to them instead of the maker of the product with whom he/they have played with?
Bajaj takes the engine block from KTM (in which Bajaj has 40% stake) & comes with a new version of it's own product, people like you will never give importance since this was done by an Indian Manufacturer & not by a Japanese or German manufacturer. This is not even just a STICKER job!! Utter non-sense."HASTA LA VICTORIA, SIEMPRE !" - Chesigpic
