What i have seen is not many people ar fan of the ns looks... There is too much 135 in it... Btw how much does the steel braided brakes lines of the duke cost? Specially the front one..
they could have done so much better and different with the rear end of ns . . the tail seaction and tail lamps should have been completely different as this represents a whole new breed of pulsars . . it would also easily differentiate it from the other pulsars.. right now only true bikers are able to recognise it as NS from behind .. i personally dont like its headlight mask ..
i dont have any idea about the prices of duke's steel braided lines .. they would probably not have it in stock as well ..

duke's alloys are lighter and wider ..
i would suggest you to keep the bike in complete stock condition for a minimum of 2000kms as there are chances that you will get used to the handle bar ..

Didn't wanted to post in this thread( i think there is a cold war going on here)
I am owner of blue NS since three days (yipee) and i can vouch for uts below written qualities :

it is as flickable as a 125 cc bike( my old yamaha gladiaor)

it is smooth but not that much in first 150 kms, so don't judge it by that.

seats are very comfortable( both of them)

vibrations have gone away( 130 on odo)

    a headturner for sure

feels relaxed in 6th gear at 60( so should give good FE)

    Absolutely agree

I'm still an amature rider, and not comfortable with hard riding.
But @toxicbiker, and @rahulbarik says, they both rode it hard, and the heat issue was not there.

    Correctly put

Even a fazer would be a perfect tourer with a 250cc heart

Its true, yamaha reacts late but it does it does with a bang... Even if they plonk in a 250cc mill in current r15 it will blow away the competition...
    Yamaha= handling
    Honda= engine
Bajaj= a mix of everything the cheap way... the desi solution for desi requirement
even i think that the ns which i tested had improperly fitted plastic panels ..
yes r15 can easily do with a much bigger engine .. i would happily pay more than 2 lakhs for a 250cc yamaha ..

    snatchy feeling is below 2000rpm..
this is the most exciting bike in city currently available within 3lakhs range .. i find it more exciting than ninja 250 in city ...

sadly yamaha will only come up with a global 250cc only during late 2013 .. they are currently working on 3 scooters .. one scooter ( ray ) this diwali and other two to follow ..
anything lesser than duke after owning fz would have been a disaster for me ..
yamaha takes a lot of time to develop a flagship but it turns out to be the best and flawless .. quality, precision and perfection is the main aim of yamaha ..

ride it to its limits during test ride guys ..

And ns nose dive is well controlled...not as gud as a fz... Handling of ns is nothing exceptional... Its just good...not scary... Even i feel how yamaha managed to get the fz so right... What i still feel is with a perimeter frame and such a long wheelbase, the handling leaves a lot to be desired... And would have loved bit more feedback on the front brakes...
@dip: clutch is very tight and very far...with zero freeplay...

    Has already clocked 67 kms - under motoman's break-in.
Made a Pulsar 220S feel insecure in just a single gear 4th for the Duke- I was just loading and unloading the engine as per motoman's method

This bike is a high end Streefighter for sure.............maybe the best in the KTM Duke family too..........so it seems

My cousin too took a test ride and his mature decision of going for the 200NS changed to the boyish decision of going for the Duke 200 and bath in adrenaline !!!

bro...that is the reason Yamaha is the World champion in Moto GP without having the most powerful bike....the handling scores more than 100 in Yamaha...I personally tested many bikes but the feedback and handling is unmatched with Yamaha...

But straightline stability is definitely better in 220...be in at 20kph or 60 kph...didn't go beyond that... As MG had also said, the 220 is a better off roader..., now i got that proove... Not only offroading, but also on broken city roads... The flickablility of ns and stability of 220 will be a deadly combo btw scappipng footrests on pulsars is child play.. pulsars especially the 220 and 180ug4 are very very easy to lean and corner but once you lean the bike starts shaking... Upto 60 its okay on a 220 after which cornering is scary, chasis becomes a see-saw and the front and rear wheels tries to go in different ways, handle feels totaly disconnected... But that does not make cornering impossible... Even i corner with my friend's 220 at high speed at chingrighata flyover and just before the starting of lake gardens flyover with continuously scrapping the main stand. Cornering and scrapping on a 220 is very much possible on a 220..but its more like the control of the rider than the own control of the bike... But hit a straightline and it goes like its on rails... My earlier tvs flame had a wonderful chasis...dont know what chasis it had but its an awesum handler... Straight line stability was not there but its the cornering ability...OMG! I could lean on insane angles with absoluty no fear...not to mention i had michelin tyres which aided the handling... The steering was so razor sharp and accurate with wonderful brakes...i had drums on both ends... Wonderful feedback from the chasis...and very forgiving... How did tvs manage to tune the chasis? its like a point and shoot bike...goes exactly where you want it to go... And the low end torque was insane with wheelspins... man i miss that bike...
i hated p220 for its weight and suspensions ..

Though you feel the kick on 220, you can't sustain it for long. Try riding 220 and 200NS side be side, redlining both the bikes for say 5Kms non stop, you will feel the difference!

And I also have gut feeling, that because of the high saddle position, you guys feel the 220 to be more fun and a better handler, it's not the case once you get used to the commuterish yet sporty riding style of 200NS. I recently tried to take on a corner on my friends 220 (just 5 months old), on the same road as I did my NS, and hell I got scared mid corner at 70Kmph or so. A mid corner correction and braking me scared even more. The next moment I was back to NS, where i'm now most comfortable. Strange for the fact I rode a 220 for 3 years, and 35000Kms! And yeah, the 220s have got the MRF ZAPPER soft compound tires. I think it's just matter of putting some soft rubber to see the real potential of then P200NS.
its true its more about getting accustomed to the bike i guess.... Today i am complaining a bit but i know, when i get used to the bike then it will be me who would love the bike... After 2 months i will contradict myself for sure but that power thingy part...everyone said its linear and doesn't have a punch... But i found it a bit too linear for my liking... but i will surely get used to the bike i just loved the rev friendly nature, smoothness, gearbox and the throttle reaction...pure bliss...
Anyways do yo intend to do any mod to the engine kill switch? Coz it shuts off everything...i would love to have a kill switch which switches off the engine only... And would also like the pilot lamps to light up without starting the engine... And does this bike have that stupid BCU thing? Its a real pain to bypass it and local electricians dont like to mess with it
