@pranay : The bikes already produced will not be affected (don't we ride RX/RD/Samurai etc etc even today with a PUC ?) , they will just ban production of BSIV non complaint bikes. Companies will not make radically different bikes starting April2010, but they will modify cat-con etc etc to bring down effluent levels to meet BSIV norms.Originally posted by pranay View Post

I read somewhere, they'll need to add a second catalytic converter to make the existing carb'd bikes to conform with the new emissions !!Originally posted by ken cool View PostI think both you guys should start behaving like responsible adults!
Even I do not know what those guys are upto!
Coming back to your question of FI and carbs there are still a lot of bikes with carbs and there will remain a lot of bikes with carbs conforming to Euro IV norms.
So I'd guess economiser bikes are still safe, that way.
But wudn't that add dead weight to the "performance" bikes !!
Regarding ZMA Fi, I rate Topgear pretty highly, so I'd assume they are not spreading heresay a la other mags !!
But there were no other details with it, so I'm afraid everything might still be up in ether !!
I try a lot to excercise restraint !! But kya karein, control hi nahin hota !!Originally posted by pranay View PostTrue. And it should be the same for all of us, for the betterment of this thread. This thread has become more like 'There aren't many bikes launched nowadays, so let's kill time here' thread.
Maybe I shud go sit under a banyan tree for a cupl of years !!Last edited by sukant08; 06-10-2009, 01:52 PM.

And Ken sir, regarding ur earlier post, I kno u r not in the rat race of highest post !! Its about quality for u, not quantity isnt it !!
And regarding P220, I kno FI was not added to it for the sake of emissions, but I made the statement about carbs in general.
Because I thght BS IV is getting enforced from April 2010 and carbs will have a tuff time confirming to those norms !

Speculater sahab, ab ye vaapis kyu raise kar diya aapne..!!!Originally posted by sukant08 View PostBTW, I got Topgear India magazine yesterday, and there was a snippet regarding HH finally launching FI Zma. Considering Topgear generally do not issue muppet statements just like that, I'd think there reason to be happy for ZMA FI aspirants !!

Interesting because that would mean the 99.xx percentage of bikes running in carbs would be affected by the law. But the implementation of the law, or upholding of the law, rather, which is in question.Originally posted by sukant08 View PostAnd regarding P220, I kno FI was not added to it for the sake of emissions, but I made the statement about carbs in general.

True, which is why I feel it is truly a myth, unless is planning to launch two versions of the 220 as speculated by some people here.Originally posted by sukant08 View PostBut even product positioning wise, I'd reckon carb P220 is a baby step backwards !!
There was an article regarding the conceptualization of modern two-strokes. It stated that this engine was capable of meeting the future standards of emission with typical 2 stroke power retained. I will have to dig the net for that, but I am certain I read it somewhere.Originally posted by sukant08 View PostAnd regarding 2-srokes coming back to production !!

ZMA-Fi has always been on the cards since waaaay back, but I guess HH went into coloring/stickering mode or something.Originally posted by sukant08 View PostBTW, I got Topgear India magazine yesterday, and there was a snippet regarding HH finally launching FI Zma. n Topgear is following the Indian Mags path(
)...... but its a good news
......
will it be all red schemeOriginally posted by insanebiker View PostSo finally. Lets speculate the possible OTR price now
I think that the Zma Fi would cost close to 1 lac or even more (if some other goodies are added), given that the Stunner Fi costed 14k more than the carb'ed Stunner!

HH may try to keep the price below 1L to woo the R15 customers..

can a carb bike and Fi bike (with ECU remapping) tune to the same levels? maybe 220 carb can be tweaked higher than the Fi counterpart , thats why this speculation.Originally posted by sukant08 View PostBut even product positioning wise, I'd reckon carb P220 is a baby step backwards !!

I knew that production was banned for a few 2 strokers, but was not sure whether it was due to pollution norms or was it limited to cubic capacity.I later confirmed it with an attachment. Got problems in understanding that?
Feel free not to comment then!
