I think government didnt 'ban' two strokes. It only banned production of two strokes which didnt meet emission norms. An attachment posted by insanebiker clarifies that point.

good morning all n wow 200 ..... (we did it earlier than Bajaj )

is 2-stroke chapter closed..... are they still producing 2-stroke autos especially after CNG n LPG....... its there only in few scoot-ies......

Regarding 2-stroke GDI engines...

It certainly makes sense, but for that matter Manufacturers will have to come up with some innovative technology which can stand the test of emission norms and also satisfy our thirst for power.

what BAJAJ is using for its Auto rickshaw is da same thing.....

with this technology, there is atleast 30% more power, 30% more Fuel Efficiency and the engine is actually less polluting than a similar sized 4-stroke engine without CatCon.......

Two strokers are not banned in India, whoever thinks so is wrong its just that most of the Two strokers find it difficult to meet the emission norms.
Still we have Scooty Teenz and TVS XL super both two stroke.

And also today i saw a news in CNBC that RTR 180 may be launched on 15th June.

Scooty teenz is a 2 stroker....
