Hee hee hee ..... looks like Ken sir is on a posting spree, to catch me and Sarvajit !!

But I thght carbs were going the way of the dodo, once BS IV emission norms were enforced in India!! Or else they might have to add a second catalytic converter to meet emissions and that will further strifle the power and add weight !!
So whats the rationale in adding carb to their flagship P220 now, wich is considered special coz because of the FI!!

Maybe they shud upgrade the injector itself, mayb a six-hole injector or something !!

    2. Which two dinosaurs are you talking about from Kinetic? If you are talking about Aquila and Comet then let me tell you that for both motorcycles, priced at close to 2L 5 years ago, each and every bike imported were completely sold out in months of their launch, so fast that Kinetic could not keep up with the demand! So how come you are calling it a flop?

I can't believe this either! Sarvajit and Sukant beat me to it!!!

No, actually I can't believe it that statistics can be so misleading. I am essentially as SP says, a speculation buster! Trying to guide this into "real, genuine" speculation if such a thing exists today in India's motorcycling industry.

This sounds only part bogus to me. Which means that this does have a part truth to it. Which means that there is a chance that a Carb model 220 is probably in the offing.

yes you are saying right but dude you can surely have look on the road you will finds cars without ABS majorly. well about the ABS in bike it will take time to come (long time).

Let me tell you that why the pace of Indian bikes is very slow because in
Indian most of the peoples buys bikes of their daily purposes they want average, low price that's it. and the rest of people who can buy expensive bikes they look for the looks in bike power is secondary to them (eg why Apache RTR sales is not going up why FZ selling like hot cakes coz in India people in any terms goes on looks whether its a bike, a cloth or a girl too). in northern india Apache RTR sales isnt impresive at all.
I think you misinterpreted my question....... of course we see many cars without ABS....... but all comes in small car segment specially B-segment....... but is it possible that you are seeing D-segment vehicles....... do you see BMW or Audi or anything........ do you find a B-segment vehicle costing more than D-segment and another is almost ready for launch........ was it possible even 5 years back........ many models were launched within these 5 years....... so all of a sudden our Indian people wanted to buy all these expensive vehicles thus creating the market for four-wheelers.......
ok now lets come back to two-wheeler industry......... it may be little older or younger than 4-wheeler industry......... but then 2-wheeler industry boomed........ we had so many bikes which are legends till date (I know its 2-stokers)........ they jumped from 100cc to 350cc........ but all of a sudden a monster appeared called pollution and all the development seized........ we took another path and it took many years to shift from 100cc to 150cc (4-stroke)....... and even we have 150cc for so many years its taking even more to take the next leap........

so am I clear about the point....... lets elaborate a little........ we have Maruti or Tata showroom in every town of India....... but how many towns have Honda(even it may have)........ but how many Mers or Audi or BMW showrooms we have in Indian cities....... that means these vehicles have limited market in limited cities (cauz even every man in city is not having these brands)........ so if these cos. can survive upon such small piece of cake and making good profit (last year I think, Audi made a jump of around 200% in its sales even in recession market)....... but we have bike showroom of every brand in every big towns (except PBK)........

till now I'm not clear......... ok BMW laucnhed big bikes way back in late 90s' (if I remember corectly)....... it was a flop....... then Kinetic came with two small Dinosaurs........ they were not such a hit but it sold in India (n later co. got sold )....... it might be there strategic mistake and I'm not qualified enough to answer......... even you are taking the example of Apache........ there are places where u'll see who is the real competitor of Pulsar........ every product has its market........ now Yamaha is killing every competition n of course looks matters....... but performance has its place....... in no way can TVS compete with Yamaha and it has real problem competing with Bajaj also....... when I wanna fight, I'll take my best warrior........ so who is TVS best warrior........

so my point is not that........ we are not getting any option of any sort (except for litre class)....... what if we have option....... then will market be the same........ I told earlier also, its like zebra n penguins........

enough of talking after lunch ......
