So I don't think anything's happening on Comet's front is there in near future.
    @blueangel also.......

I studied the M&M 2 wheelers site and had inferred these things:
1.Kinetic Aquila,Comet were also launched alongside GF series,Boss...........but they had been found nowhere in site.Only motorcycles in the product line up were Comet,Aquila and Stryker..............the recent bike of Kinetic. So it can be safely said that the site has went overhaul.
2.The site has been worked on and has been named M&M 2wheelers,while doing this ,a big corporate like Mahindra wud have surely looked at the pdt line-up and has intentionally let the product line-up there be, as it is..........removing the impractical pdts.
So there is everychance that Comet ,Aquila and Stryker be redeemed. Its not too difficult for Mahindra.

But, the only solid news that had been in recent newspapers arnd are that of a new Mahindra Flyte. think all others wud follow suite. So theres a resurrection of Comet250

    Good News.

Kinetic (or M&M 2wheeler) no longer has a collaboration with Hyosung, and their JV with Italiano is also up for renewal now. Heck there is not even a spare part agreement now !! (Wich I find weird, as I thght they are legally bound to provide spares for 15 years or so after the product is discontinued or something !! But no idea !!
So there might not be a Comet till they decide to renew the JV with Hyosung !!
Kawasaki Ninja : Because lazy sunday afternoons should be despatched at 160 kmph!!!
Hyosung Aquila : Because sometimes you need to look cool while riding at 40 kmph and you can do that only on a cruiser !!!

It seems Yamaha is bringing into India Made for India versions of its International brands. First the R15 derived from the R1, then the FZ 16 derived from FZ1, now this new bike looks like the Fazer 1000.
So what if other companies follow.

Honda brings out th CBR150R, a CBF150/200, a CB150R maybe even a Goldwing Tourer 150 then Suzuki then Kawasaki, then KTM then Ducati (probably not)
What others will Yamaha bring?? XJR250??TDM 150??? MT 150...
          the possibilities are endless....
          lol .... this was unbelievable

            • Just saw the news about Hero Honda launching 9 bikes. some new bikes and some variants. I have seen this news in one of the business news channels. But the information was not in greater detail. Just that their Haridwar plant is up and will have a capacity of 4000 bikes.

Anyone has more information on this? I am not expecting anything much exciting but nevertheless, since the news says new launches, I was wondering what they are.

You have an Aquila so u might have a lotta doubts and facts, but the truth is that a company like M&M can renew a contract like that any moment[now I use a Mahnidra Scorpio Getaway ].
They have intentinoally left the website to be.Its just time being that they pull and bind all loose strings left by Kinetic.Pull dealers in from SUV networks and nationwide showrooms and also existing Kinetic ones and get those bikes one after another on road for sale confidently. Trust me they will be putting up some big times.

Now I only wish if the Tatas go for the LML closed shop,I always dreamt of a Daelim too bad it never made it to Indian Market.

I have rode some Daelims back home in Nepal. What I found was nothing spectacular. Indian companies have jumped leaps and bounds, especially in the last four years. Who could think of the bikes that are coming out now four years back? Daelim bikes are not supersmooth, atleast the 125 cc cruisers and the "sportsbike" they claim to be - the Roadwing. They are big bikes but don't have the grunt to match. Most of them are underpowered and cost alot.

Its not about me having the Aquila or not! My observations are based on whats going on, on the ground regarding K'tic and/or the motorcycling industry as such.

There are various reasons why Kinetic website has Comet still listed !! One of them might very well be that they plan to bring Comet/Aquila back (wich will be an even better idea now than it was 4-5 years back !! ).

But who knows, they might want to keep reminding pple that they once had bikes like Aquila/Comet among them. The same reason why suzuki showed the Gixxer in an Ad peddling Zues (I think when Dhoom 2 was released), or the same reason y Honda and Yamaha kept showing litre class bikes at so many expos, (before launch of the bikes officially that is ). See its all about visibility.

And getting into a JV is not that easy, there are a lots of logistic decisions involved. But I agree with you, a company like MnM can very well get into a JV with Hyo, esp when Hyo (actually S&T Motors now) have global expansion in their agenda !! But I think the real hurdle is whether they want to do it.

We need to see what direction M&M wants to take with Kinetic. What market they want to cater and what will be their product portfolio !
And that is something we do not know for sure yet ! Its all speculations mate, everything is up in thin air now !!

Also pls dont wait for Daelims, AFAIK they are not better than Indian products and definitely not in the league of Hyosungs.

Oh Yeah I forgot one thing and may be you too Sukant! This is a speculation thread...... so anything goes. Keep the assumptions and studies coming

On a serious note, I wish they (M&M or Kinetic) could at least provide parts support.

This link seems trash to me-these people are still saying Bajaj is bringing as CKD, being made in Chakan, costs over 1 lakh etc.whereas as we read a few posts back from someone, Rajiv Bajaj has clearly stated (that is the only official talk from Bajaj) that they are bringing as a CBU in May-June for over 2 lakh.
I guess we need to wait till June or max July and then think about blaming Bajaj.

Now I was talking about LML Daelim back in 2003-4.At that time we had shit products in the market and I only had a Shogun. So Daelim was my dream.
But now Daelim's line up is very sorry except their newly launched Roadwin 250.It has some looks and I feel like getting atop it and wheelie myself out to glory.
Even though it wud be gr8 to have LML back.

My present focus is only RTR180 and the upcoming speculative Yamaha Yzf R4 (250cc)
