  • I considered M80 as a legend since it's a proven work horse. Untill I saw this.

    • @MODS: Is this thread really serving any real purpose apart from people coming in and mudslinging at their most hated manufacturers and one another?

      IMHO, deserves to be closed!

Yes, no proper info is coming out. Just a Subjective analysis of members here, What else?

Bottom Line, Bajaj Bikes have their Good points & Bad Points. Accept them for what they are ... and don't buy them if your heart says "No". That's it!
& what classifies as legend? Again, a subjective question!

            1. Chetak. It's a legend.. No question about it.
            2. RD 350. New Fastest Indian can never match the "TRUE FASTEST INDIAN"
            3. RX 100, Reliable, fast, light weight, touched our pappa's heart now touching our heart. Finally ever increasing resale prices (Jumped from 13k to 20K within 2 or 3 yrs time for a good one, at least in my place).
            4. CD 100, the thing that promoted 4 strokes here. later the Splendor came, BTW it's too a legend. The largest sold/selling bike in the country/world and one of the expensive among the used bikes (remember it's a 100 c commuter).
5.CBZ classic (scaled HONDA CBX200)- The bike that started the modern era of performance bikes in India. Good looking old Honda.

            6. PULSAR 150/180 CLASSIC- When they launched, they served the masses. Out shined the Legend (CBZ) by it's VFR and performance. I thought this is gonna be a legend. But it's now 7 yrs gone. Where are the gud old Pulsars?? I could hardly find a good looking/running one with their proud owners. All the others are in pretty bad shape. Some of them are waiting for a new owner at a used bike showroom for prices less than a used RX or Splendor. Shame!!.. When launched back in 2002 it was a hit with it's radical styling, performance, pricing etc. but now it's gone. How many of you prefer a used pulsar??

When BAL upgraded the P series again they served masses with it's VFM, efficiency and techno gizmos.. .But I'm sure that a large number of the Pulsar owners are Posers and college students, who dont know anything about bikes. .
They bought the pulsars for showing off themselves (The P series might be holding the record of having the most number of accidents with youngsters and having the most pathetic mod jobs in India). BAL's attractive financial options helped them much. I personally know many of them. Including my friends.

I'm not saying that Pulsars are bad bikes. of course they are good bikes, great performance great VFM. But it should last for years. If so, it'll be considered as a legend.

SO FOR ME PULSARS ARE NOT A LEGEND and WILL NEVER BE ONE..
hence my 6th legend is not a Pulsar.
            6. KARIZMA- launched way back in 2002-2003. Still the same. I dont have words. This is a Legend.

7.R15 - Upcoming legend ...lol... This is gonna be a legend. No it's a legend.

Finally --- I get more respect on a ZMA/RX/CBZ rather than a Pulsar....
            +1

Agree that most of the accidents happened on pulsars. But the new pulsars ug3 and ug4 have a bit improved handling.

Obviously quality/reliability were the X-factors because of which the P series couldnt become a legend. The only shortcomings of the P series. Thats it.

            • the title of the thread itself is not appropriate !!!
It seems the thread starter had it in his mind that bajaj bikes are not legend
and then he is asking the reason for it
it should have been something like ... do you think bajaj bikes can or will be legend ?
then it would have been just
otherwise all posts here are completely OT
the thread is only asking for reason for bajaj bikes not being a legend

              leaving that thing apart

i dont want to comment whether bajaj bikes( older versions) were dangerous or not ........ although many people have told me against them
and ofcourse they were bajaj pulsars

but i would like to ask you people
is that the only reason that they dont qualify for being legendary
they can be legendary bikes known for killing people

do you guys have any idea about how many people were killed on a RD 350 ?
              arent they dangerous ?
              i am just asking
if someone has some stats or have heard something please enlighten us

              cheers
Hope is a good thing ,
