Handling all the way! For the price one is paying its certainly not asking for much. Be it a tourer or a racer the bike needs to go around the curves with ease and confidence.

Are you serious? You want the P220 to have more punch down below? I thought it was already punchy enough. I guess different people different requirements.

Santa, u await a small surprise then...

I expect the new range of bikes to come from Bajaj, the ones with KTM collaboration, to address most of the issues to a good extent!

Come on Bajaj... so far you've made Indians proud.. now make the owners proud

          err... is that flame material?

Umm... pardon me but Are your expectations based on some real life data about these bikes?

I mean, is it a news, or are you "just expecting" like we all are ...

and no, nothing you said seems to be flame material ...

I salute you sir. For a person owning an R15 and still having hopes in Bajaj is something I would never have expected.

P.S.: Because usually I expect R15 owners to start Bajaj bashing immediately. And I dont mean all the R15 owners on xbhp.

Santa, u stole my words for the first part. But may be I am an optimist. Good old days, I liked Bajaj for everything. Then the lack of quality and unreliable machines kept me away so much so that I have sometimes rejected to ride a Bajaj when friends offered me one for my use when in other cities

But then, I came back into the Bajaj camp with the KB100, Caliber, Pulsar and to an extent the Discover & P220. But they disappointed me every time... may be not so much with the Discover! It is not enough to have a good product. It should be good enough with to stand competetion and in long run.

As people said in another thread, may be the Chetak and the M80 are the only legends from Bajaj!

I am even away from Bajaj Electricals and Electronics. There are stories about them that is of no use here.

I understand that it is hard to believe that things would turn around once you are beaten badly!

I have read and heard about KTM (cannot rate myself as to what extent it is). They are known to make really sweet mills and fantastic machines. Bajaj is working on a new platform of bikes between 125 & 250 CC along with KTM. They know that this existing stuff doesn't stand for long with the Big 4 pulling their socks up.

Also, if anyone in India has the gutts, that's Bajaj. I am sure they'll do it again. But then, as Santa says, Bajaj has an upper hand on KTM here and I still have my fingers crossed

Bajaj guys: See, people are in a surprise that I still believe in you! Come on guys, get us reliable products!!!

totally agree with you guys was waitin for a thread like this to come up ! ppl have already mentioned lots of things which they would want on the new hopefully improved 220! personally i would want better rvm's ! but one thing i would want the bike to have from b4 is the torque distribution across the gears ! i rode the r15 recently and found it totally incredible after abt 6k rpm !! and mainly the engines ability to provide smooth rev at higher rpms but it lacked tht initial thrust which i love on the 220 ! as soon as u down the gear at abt 5 k rpm and throttle up the gears it goes !!!! and i mean it pulls clearly after tht ! hopefully u ppl would agree to this !

bigger tank certainly ! but i dont want the low quality plastic fairing i mean it vibrates like hell at high revs and then one doesnt feel like belting the bike ! carbon fiber would b real expensive and not worth it but i think better mounts and better hold of the fairing and particular points would help a lot ! .

also most importantly ! breaking ! rode the r15 and i must say its breaking is like nothin i have felt my god you touch the breaks and you have the utmost confidence tht the bike will stop in any situation !!!!! the 220's rear break is very weak (i knw there is a good reason bajaj has done tht so tht the bike doesnt skid ) but y cant the quality of the brakes b as good as tht of the r15's ???????

ummm... put on a Michelin Sirac tyre at the rear & then speak about breaking!!! the rear brake becomes as good as the a front one .... well, almost!

But brother, the tires should not affect the braking in the sense of feel. The feel of the brakes should be progressive. Even if you put Battlax tires on the rear, the feeling of the rear brakes would not improve simply because the braking mechanism has nothing to do with the tires.

Handling is a different characteristic than braking. Handling would definitely improve with the Siracs. But braking, I don't think so.

The braking can surely get better in terms of figures like distance required for stoping from a particular distance but overall feel will be more or less same.

One of the Very good topic i found in xbhp...

Guys i am not an pulsar fan coz of various reasons...

The things i don't like in pulsar is that its vibes, bad chain sproket, the engine sound which comes when not downing the gears...

but there are many good things in pulsar's that others can't... personally i like P200 than any other pulsars (the looks and the throttle response is excellent when even compared to ZMA)... personally i don't like the looks of a P220... looks really tinch... and also other two big thinks a person who is mileage conscious and also needs power this is the best bike i would say.

When considering the pros and cons of pulsars... the biggest problem... the "RELIABILITY" is the main factor that many of them decide not to select this one...

If bajaj can solve the reliability probs... then they will be definitely a headache for HH, Yamaha, Honda etc.

IF BAJAJ OFFICIALS ARE WATCHING THIS THREAD PLS CONSIDER OUR REQUEST...

Coz i like or i dream an indian company to be in the world standards... or to hear a TVS&BAJAJ1000cc SBKs...
                              sigpic...Ride Long...Ride Safe...

When you dance with the devil, you wait for the song to stop...
