Cops (& Interceptors) in Bangalore

Just wanted to add, those of you who have been caught with this fake 60kmph rule, please make a complaint.
They really have an effect. Atleast whenever I have reported things they do take action.
eg: the drunken driving checking for papers thingy stopped. had complained about bikes being lifted some parking spots, even that stopped.
Make sure you note the name of the policeman who caught you and the area as that is important.

The next time they catch you without violating rules or any other made up stories just report them... You dont have to go to a cop station and file a complaint, etc
Just logon to Bangalore City Traffic Police
Head over to the complaints section (top right corner)
Fill up the form and done ! Its simple.
The system automatically forwards a complaint to Asst commisioner, who then forwards it to the concerned station.
I have used this a number of times when they have caught me for no reason. 2 Sub Inspectors suspended because of this
1st time they stopped for drunken driving checking, i wasnt drunk and then wanted to see my documents. Second time they stopped me for checking papers when i had not violated any rules..
You can also send emails directly to [email protected]

Hahaha!!!
Well now there are no indicators differentiating the speed limit for the vehicles on that road. All I could see was the mark for limit of 80.
I'll still be riding on 31st so i'll check for that again..

And i believe the lane restriction for the 2 wheelers has been removed. Earlier 2 wheelers moving in first lane were also fined irrespective of their speeds.
Now no such indicators are there on the entire stretch.
And no indicator to tell the max speed for 2 wheelers is 60. Earlier there were such indicators but now all have been removed..
So i believe we can ride in first lane as well within the limit of 80..

This post only generated curiosity. Can you please elaborate.Originally posted by remobangalore View PostToday XBhp sticker/Riding Gear saved my 300/- from Interceptor (BTP)

Today XBhp sticker/Riding Gear saved my 300/- from Interceptor (BTP)
I was caught by Interceptor (BTP-Bangalore Traffice Police) on old Madras - Banaswadi Road for over speeding (72Kmph)
Then one Mama (Police) ask me to show my documents. Without removing my lid and balacava (A semi terrorist look) i gave my documents. Same time he showed the Video of Fastest Indian with bright Pilot Light. Then he ask me to speak with higher official.
I told the higher official that I have never been caught by any traffic police so far. Becoz i always follows the traffic rules
. But he ask me to pay 300/-. I said no.
I showed XBhp sticker n told i am a member of XBhp n we promote Safe Riding. Then he ask me to pay 100/-. I said if u want i ll pay the fine. I dont have any probelm.
I gave a small speech abt XBhp n safe riding. I explained to him that I keep myself safe while riding by wearing all riding gear. Later i took 100/- to give him. He denied it n returned back all my documents with a SMILE.
He must be really impressed with my Xbhp logo/Balacava/Lid/Gloves.....
Shall we promote XBHP by distributing leaflet/brochure. So that we can give some awareness abt Safe Riding/Wearing Helmet for the public.
Wear Helmet/Riding Gear n Ride Safe

Does anyone know the Bangalore Traffic Police's link for checking traffic violations?

I was stopped on the Airport road somewhere past Hebbal. Same deal. I was doing 70, under the impression that the limit was 80. The cop stepped out right in the middle of the road from behind a lorry he had stopped. He just stuck his hand out. I was going too fast to just slam on the brakes so I just wove past him and then slowed down for the next cop down the road.
He told me the same thing. That the limit was 60. Was very decent though and he appreciated the fact that I was polite. So, he fined me 100 instead of the usual 300 and gave me a printout too. Very decent chappie.
I told him the same story about how i saw no boards with the speed limit as 60 for bikes. Funnily enough, 200m down the road was a little board with the speed limits.
So I did a u-turn and told them they should make them more prominent.
Nice cops though. Pleasant change all said and done.

There were boards on the left with 80 marked on it...and I maintained 65 Kmph.Originally posted by madhav krishna View PostHeights of bad luck for others & good luck for you. The speed limit was 60kmph i guess.
.In Chennai on the ECR the speed allowed is 80 Kmph..but near the small villages on the way there will be restriction boards with 40 written on it.The cops will invariably be lurking in the turn into the area and speeding cars will get caught. Since I am used to sighting them regularly, and having knowledge of it from Fellow XBHPians ..I was able to avoid them in Bangalore.
