Speed limit for two wheelers for entire Bangalore city is 50kmph!! (This also applies throughout India, you can google and verify)
This was enforced more than a year ago..

But i feel, it does depend on the ride as well, if I drive my 110cc commuter even on 80kmph, nobody stops me, drive my 220cc above 60kmph and a Pandu jumps!!

The Ride can't be the main cause of cops jumping... During the last G.I.R ride a huge group of bikes (around 40-60 bikes with a dozen SBK s) were riding around 60 on Old Airport road & only one poor guy on a TVS WEGO was caught & fined...
cops know only one "sports" bike called "Pulsar" .. Any kind of ripping & pandus start of on the walkee " Black Pulsar.. Black Pulsar...!!" No offence.. but the cops think ,riders on Pulsars are offensive riders..

One more encounter on Sarjapur Road.. but this time I was above 80.. but my luck, I took a left turn into a small road just before the cop could flag me & after few months also I've not received any letter from BTP ..

you are so ryt , @rusted . these cops create a ruckus and act so brashly if you are not a local, especially if you are from north east.

If you take the silkboard to e-city flyover, interceptors will be parked at the lay bye and also sometimes at the place where you get down from the flyover.
If you don't take the fly over then you might want to be cautious at every signal. Can't expect when they might jump right infront of your bike.

Interceptors will be placed at electronic city- especially infront of our college- PES School Of engineering.

Then sometimes highway patrol people will be waiting some 5-6 kms before the karnataka-TN border.
i am pretty lucky in this case i never came across them in 3 months of riding on the flyover. they have timings too. they usually come after 11 and go after 4 in the eve. i have seen them once on the opposite lane at 2 in the noon. Seriously they need to get a life instead of doing this.

I got caught on the Outer Ring Road near Nandini Layout doing 60-65 km/h as per the speedo on RTR160 on a 6-lane road . I might have crossed 70 during some steep downhill. The board mentions 60km/h for cars and 50 km/h for trucks. The cop said it's 60 km/h only for cars and 50 km/h for all other vehicles. Seriously, 50 km/h on a 6-lane road even for a HAYABUSA? I was in a hurry for some work. So paid the fine and left. These guys need to think more before setting those idiotic speed limits. That road is perfectly safe for 100+ km/h most of the time. There aren't many openings for jaywalkers too.

last week saw the interceptors from distant while riding at around 60 and slowed down gradually just by pressing rear break so that they dont notice the sudden decrease in speed so was riding sanely the next day but a activa guy was caught while trying to overtake me

I remember in 2007 the day 1 on my brand new Apache 150 to office. The bike was registered and all papers with my DL was perfect, I was keen about run-in, was doing about 40Kph. Still the cop was asking 50rs as good will gesture, the reasons told were

Till now, i've found that Bangalore Traffic Cops are soft and humane. I've got caught about 5 times. Once, i ran out like that. The other time i paid just 30 rupees(i'm a student). One time, i was caught for over speeding but the cop didn't take any money from me. Another Time, i was caught for Signal Jump, even that time i didn't pay fine.

The thing is you need to be compassionate and honest with them. Then, they wont trouble you.
