Was pulled up yesterday near yesvanthpura railway station. Reason:- was driving in the wrong side of the road
. Paid 100 & went. Any idea about the fine for the offence i made??. I dint regret paying him since i had committed an offence.

Yup, I've been pulled over there once.Originally posted by tibby View PostInterceptor sighted regularly on Outer Ring Road, Marathalli. Bang outside Ivy-the unwind island, & Opposite Prestige Tech Park (JP Morgan).
The Interceptor is stationed here during non-peak hours, typically between 11am & 5pm.
I was doing 170 in my dad's mondeo, they didn't pull me overOriginally posted by tibby View PostI haven't done the Hebbal-BIAL stretch in the last 1+ month, but I have seen a board near Esteem Mall, stating the speed limit for 2-wheelers is 60kmph.Seems like the lane wise speed limits of 40-60-80 for lanes 1-2-3 (from left) is back. Saw fresh markings of these speeds in the lanes opposite Esteem Mall about a fortnight ago.
. but sent a notice home
next time you guys from pune come here and are looking for some trouble, i'll take you to the exact spotOriginally posted by RoadZilla View PostI really wanted to test the speed of my speedometer and that of the SpeedGUN!!! Shit! Missed the chance.
Didn't find a single...A SINGLE Interceptor on the Mysore-Bangalore Road unlike what Tibby had earlier told us. Faltu mai armaan jagaa diye!!!!

Ahh automotive discriminationOriginally posted by tibby View PostNo! The vehicle class-wise speed limits should still hold good IMO. What this would mean is that 2-wheelers aren't allowed on the rightmost lane (except for overtaking maybe).

You guys should have let us know earlier what your intentions were.
We would have given the traffic police some khufiya khabar that a group of over-speeding badass bikers is coming to Bangalore via Mysore Road. They would have been more than happy to station themselves there for a guaranteed INR 1,500 (INR 300 each for the 5 of you), & the opportunity to give you guys some safe riding gyaan (this one's for free; the wisdom types).

Ialways wanted a such kind of rule. Those people who drive slowly & value their lives can go slowly in the slow lane & those who drive fast can go in the fast lane. Accidents can be reduced by this .Sorry for my late reply since i havent read this thread from a long time.

I remember you mentioning you wanted a documented proof of your bike's top-speed.Originally posted by Hyperion View PostWe were hoping to run into some interceptors on the Mysore-Bangalore route, didnt get any in our lane. Though we saw them in the opposite lane.
The cars dont seem to be too scared of them, I was tailing a Swift doing about 130.
In the 8-10 times that I have done this stretch on my bike, I have seen an interceptor just once!!
The interceptors do stop the cars as well, but stopping 2 wheelers is more rampant due to:
1. Ease of stopping a 2 wheeler (read, low danger of injury/ losing life).
2. Lower speed limit of 2-wheelers.
3. Easy & soft targets.
If they usher a vehicle to stop, & it doesn't, either the message is conveyed over wireless, or a speeding challan is sent over to the vehicles reistered address.

You're lucky to have escaped paying 100.

Everywhere it was the same 80. And at some junctions other than this BIAL-hebbal stretch, saw boards marking clear speed limits for two and four wheelers !!!
Have you seen any board with 60kmph for 2 wheelers on this BIAL - Hebbal stretch ?

The speed limit is written on the boards as 60kmph. You were overspeeding & had an excessive speed of 15kmph. So there was no point in arguing with the cop when you have broke a rule. You should feel lucky that he had left you by taking just 100 rupees since most of the times they dont leave like that untill your pocket gets empty.Originally posted by santhan View PostI faced a similar situation couple of days back. It was the same location just before Yelahanka Junction, and a corrupted cop caught me for over speeding (was doing 75kmph
). Argued with him for not having any specific speed limit for 2/4 wheelers and everywhere its the same 80kmph written on those boards. He took my license and was reluctant in giving it back. Asked me to pay 300rs ( offered to give me a challan instead of printout - reason being printer not working...he was blabbering some crap). I was short of money as i had only 200rs with me..After arguing for about 20mins, he asked me to give 100rs for no challan being given and leave the place and if argued further he will impose heavy penalty for over speeding and seize the bike. I was in a hurry to the airport and asked him to give me the challan for 200rs for which the cop turned it down !
I wish something serious needs to be done with such corrupted cops. Despite following traffic rules we end up emptying our pockets.
No hard feelings bro
. Just posted my opinion.
