      • Brillainat job! Was thinking for a long time about how to put projector on my ZMA-R, I think this'll help a great deal.

@Mumbai xbhp'ians... Anyone who knows any MECH in Mumbai who can do this for me, flawlessly...???

Had showed a sample picture earlier in a thread here. Well that was just a sample.

Today I am done with the final (almost) setup on my bike. Sticker work is pending to give a neat look after that (probably tomoro) will upload pics during day time.

I have installed 2 projectors of skoda and 1 of Benz.

          Skoda's contain H3 55w Halogen and Benz's contain 100w H1 Halogen.

Regarding wiring, as my bike was running on DC i have connected 1 skoda's to low and benz's to high beam.
The other skoda's is running on AC (left out wire after DC conversion).

          Cost involved.

          Projector - 1200rs
Unicorn cowl + Reflector - 400rs (in junk, i didn't want to ruin the stock)
          Clamps + Headlight cable - 200rs
          Silicon Gel - 120rs
          Time spent - Priceless

I had thought that Unicorn's old headlight cowl will be straight fit for new ones but the bracket that holds the new cowl is different so had to get custom clamps as well.

Well now I have to save for HID's

IMHO who ever planning to put projectors, unless you plan to put HID don't opt for projectors.

          THINGS PENDING...

          2 X 35w H3 HID's
APE's RR Unit for complete DC conversion.

          Hope I do it soon.

hey, nice thing done. But how much skoda's projector cost u and also the benz one ?? n most importantly, how much brighter they are in roads. do they giv good clarity or like normal?? Actually, m thinkin of taking out the complete headlight unit. i hav an apache. headlight unit's r too heavy. thinkin of replacin them wid these lil nice projectors. This would might save up some weigth and help increase bike's performance. Hoping to get a reply from u.
          Takecare.

              • nice job

But doesnt go well with the looks of the bike.... A single projector and reflector combination would have looked better. But appreciate picking stuff up from the Junkyard and getting things done and getting things working .....If you have the set-up would love to have a look at it sometime if possible as I stay in Mysore itself.

                        H3 bulbs has single filament.

Note: Hi-Lo beams in projectors are actuated by the the movement of the shield (that inner part which covers half the lens) in high-end projectors. Not the bulb as in conventional light reflector.
Yours does not have such a mechanism, they are fixed. So you choice is either to use it as Hi (by removing the shield) or Lo (by keeping it).

SO, is it okay to get some car projectors from the junk, or purchase it from somewhere, keep the shield, and then use a H4 halogen lamp......wat would be the output...i mean whether i get both beams, or only the low beam.....?

If I keep the shield, and i dont get a high beam, what is the other option I ahve to get the hi beam ?
