      Joel made all the difference

      Well its Exhaust + K&N + Jetting + Sprocketing.
Only Exhaust was doing well in low revs but in higher revs it was completely losing out in the 220 FI(Very Lean - no option to make it richer as we were not having the DTSFI Tool from Bajaj - Sunday).
Joel made it slightly richer by some means.
Then it was ahead of the comet for about hundred mts or so in the Deccan Quarter mile Drag.
      Will upload a video soon.

So on the 220 DTS-i went for the whole setup as we can make the AFR rich.
It took lot of time for setting up everything properly.
The exhaust works brilliantly due to Joel's calculations he made to fabricate it.
The Exhaust needs to be tuned for performance.
It made a huge difference once the engine was tuned.
The Current set up is without opening the engine.
I'm sure if he rips the engine & changes the CDI (220DTS-i) the Bike will hit 160+ & much quicker.
I'm waiting for him to do it by opening the engine now.

Coming to this Bikes power - Only guys who rode the bike in HYD can tell U more about it.
Some of the xBhp members did ride it.
I'll ask them to give their feedback here.

Forgot to mention about the weight.
It was very light when compared to the stock.
Did not weigh either so no clue about exact weights but I can lift the complete exhaust with ease.
The Stock is quite heavy to lift.

There was no time for anything to be done. Hence only a full race exhaust was installed. Later in the day, the set-up was optimised just a bit by doing some external tune-up. Here is a video of the bike beating a fully stripped Comet 250 for the first 100mtrs and later finished the race just 0.8 seconds behind the 250cc v-twin. This is from a 220cc and 25k run stock engine with a rider who has never raced in his life.

            Thanks for uploading the Video.

            I was the rider.
U can see how I was flying away from the Comet for the initial 100 odd meters.
With the new fully tuned engine I might very well give the Comet a Run for its Money & CC.
Also the Comet was too light with nothing ( Totally Naked ) with very light alternate parts added & the rider also except for basic cloth riding gear.
Being the first time in a drag/race in my life I was in heavy riding gear.
Full Gauntlet Gloves, Fully armed & protected Jacket, Knee pads, Heavy riding shoes, Very heavy helmet, Kidney protector, Spine protector, etc.
            Everything taken for touring!!!
My total riding gear was almost 15kg.
Joel went first & then I wore all these.
When I was near the grid he asked what I was doing with so much of gear?
He asked me to lighten myself if possible.
But it was too late as I was next to go.
            So continued with the gear.
To top all this I was Using the normal petrol tank with around 5-6 litres of Petrol.
I did not even do the trial run on the trial day as I registered very late on Saturday & bike was having stock exhaust at that time.
In the middle of the night we fixed the exhaust and as it was very late did not even do any checking.
Next day we needed some internal tuning of the ECU but we don't have the FI tool as its a Sunday.
We even tried to swap an ECU & finally Joel made some external Tuneup.
The Results are in the Video.
Not even 100mts of testing was done before the Drag.

The p180 can also be worked on. But it will need more work inside the engine than merely an exhaust. Nevertheless the exhaust alone will still give you good gains.

I for one didnt believe a mere exhaust change can give neck snapping performance, ie., until Frankenstein hooked me up with a hand crafted FFE for my T165. Makes a helluva difference!!

Exhausts from commerical players are generic across a breed of bikes, so power gains if any are not substantial. But getting a one-off custom exhaust tailored for one's bike is something else.

@Joel bro, thanks for bringing this up to us... as you told me before a performance upgrade for FZ is possible, so my question is how much can i gain the performance from the stock?

can you shed some light on this, as i am not that much familiar with it?

                  Thanks in advance...

the videos gr8 and the exhaust looks good too ,ok this may not be relevant but i wanted to knw wat sort of drop in mileage would v be looking at ?? and wat about the longitivity of the engine ?? would an ffe damage engines in the long run ?? and lastly the on the fi the only tuning it requires is the air-fuel ratio ?? have longed for an exshaust system on the bike but bloody hate making the cops rich !!

Yes, the FZ will see a very good gain in performance. Gains will be around 15% with the exhaust alone on overall performance.

@Mash - Thanks man. Nice to hear the Fiero is bringing some smiles on your face . That exhaust is an icing on your now 185cc engine.

@diehard - The exhaust in the video has no relevance to the way the production one will look. That was a quick build for the race and aesthetics were the last thing in mind.
AFR on the stock P220 need not be changed if you in a city like bangalore. Others can just go to a Bajaj showroom and ask the dealer to turn it a little rich using their diagnostic tool.
Engine reliability will remain the same and your fuel efficiency with a good exhaust will improve. However thats the opposite if you revving the nutts off your engine to feel the extra roar everytime . And most blame the exhaust to be the culprit! If you riding it like you did with the stock pipe, there will be a slight gain to the overall fuel efficiency.
There is no street legal race-performance exhaust in the world, and its always a mild compromise with the law. Having said that, this is around 30% quiter than the Yamaha Dagrex pipe. You can guess the decibels by now.

15% with exhaust alone? that's pretty nice, and what are the other performance upgrades like high cam etc.?

Should i need to come to Bangalore to buy this or is there a shipping facility?
