HELP!
You can see from the pics that I'm doing a lot of stuff wrong, but what all exactly?
Not exactly interested in scraping my footpegs off, just want to take a corner faster!
This is the first time I got to see my cornering pics.....

This is a bit blurry!

Fresh from a crash IMO i would rather choose to slide with/without the bike, than being thrown out of the bike like the crash i had where i was bucked out of the seat and fell right in front of the bike! believe me that is definitely not a good feeling at allOriginally posted by L.P. View PostSo isnt it better to Fall and leave the bike rather than getting skid with it for a quater mile or even less than that..

agreeed to your point as well...
I would clik next time... If you say you would give a try to lean...Originally posted by desideep View PostBullet does not allow me to do it and if any one can take some pics for me
I TOTALY AGREE to your point aswell..Originally posted by anirudh View Post^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ and
Hey read my first post carefully...... I GUESS MOST RIDERS IN THIS COMMUNITY ARE MATURED ENOUGH NOT TO TRY CORNERING IN CITY STREETS. THERE IS A THIN LINE BETWEEN BEING BRAVE AND BEING STUPID. I AM STRONGLY AGAINST TRYING SUCH STUFF ON THE CITY ROADS. ESPECIALLY WHEN MOST OF THE PEOPLE ARENT WEARING PROTECTIVE CLOTHING.
HOweverrr...:
I said: I AM NOT PRACTISING IT ON BUSY ROADS..it's just we tend to lean..when we know it..

And point 4 is still invalid as no matter what your technique is... be it mx or proper leaning if u do it on a bumpy city road you will fall. And with the mx style of yours more chance that you will be thrown off on the other side of the bike. With a proper leaning technique you jus slide with your bike and since most people ride with crash guards injury is minimal.

Also i would just like to add to this anirudh..whatever you said... is correct i do not deny the fact.. however a genreal tendency of human nature as in to defend himself..
..i would like to add..(nothing personal,critique

Talking about leaning on the roads that we normally use to commute..like what we are used to do here in delhi..
When we lean by the way we do it in a motoX... there are a couple of benefits.. such as :
i) we get a better view of the road..
ii) as you know about the tendency of people about crossing roads, they just come inf front of you..and in that point of timw you get a penty of time to react to that ..
iii)The leaning that you are telling to do..is only possible on the kind of tracks we can see in the image..not on roads..
iv) Last but not the least...if there are any kind of bumps on the road..you get a chance to rectify your lean to a normal riding stance and save your a** from being scratched..

These are curves that I usually visit often:
1. While coming from sec-18 and take flyover for mayur vihar delhi, there is a very beautifuly U-Turn which is very long and one can actually do knee touch down on it...I use this route mostly in weekends for practicing cornering.
2. Then all the clover leaves for the DND is really good, one can use two of them without going on the DND flyway.
@LP,Aryan if you guys plan for this ...do tell me..i would like you guys.Last edited by torque_ankur; 09-26-2008, 08:37 PM.

1&2 When you are cornering you are supposed to be looking at the exit, and when you enter for instance a right corner, you have to stick to the left corner before you enter the braking point in order to be able to exit cleanly, and at this point i.e. the left most point of a right corner, you'll have the widest vision possible, and therefore there'll be little chance that you are surprised when something jumps in front of you, unless you panic and go off the throttle.............Originally posted by L.P. 3. Actually you are not supposed to do such cornering antics in any public roads, as there is always the case of an unpredictable situation, it's always to safe to corner, without carrying too much speed either into a corner and out of it
4. It's the same case as in 1.&2. if you panic probably you are going to get thrown off your and worse into the oncoming traffic! when you hit a bump try exiting the corner without letting off the throttle too much that end up going out off the corner

And it does lie vacant for a good amount of time. And it IS sticky. Maybe senior members can join in a collective effort to pursue the convenor of xBhp to book it for a few hours of practice once a week or thrice a month.
Ofcourse it has to be a funded effort since hiring such a place even for a couple of hours is not going to come easy or very cheap. Which is why I said collective effort with seniors and the convenor.
I am ready to pay to a certain extent; just to see what it feels like to be on such a surface.Yees... i would like to add something to the above mentioned points..Originally posted by Aryan View PostWe sure would've..
Hmmm...Now, that I think of it, there is the Safdarjung Airport which always remains vacant and that long wide strip will be sticky enough I believe!! Now, if only there could be a way to get in!

Alright..
Delhi major busimen's and politicians and famous personlaties use this place to land their private or charted helicopters,Also the Ghandhi family usses it frequently as a result of which it is Highly gaurded area by security personells.. also there had been some accidents in the recent past..
as a result of which the permission here is impossible..leave the point of spending money...
its better to find out some place which has been used a motocross race track earlier and look for the hard patches..

Well like you guessed it could just be your tire near the end of its life. I am guessing you have zappers on. Also is ur suspension set to full stiff?? sometimes a soft suspension can make your rear feel unstable...this is more into the corner than during braking.
2. And also i don't wait till the very edge of the braking point to get off the throttle, i sort off ease a few centimeters before and gently brake so that i can carry through the corner with the momentum developed, is this the right way to do?
well for a start its the right way. You need to learn the lines and braking points to actually start pushing. But once u learn those u can literally go full throttle into the corner..youll just need to tap the brakes to dive in the forks before u take the turn.Only in really tight corners you mightve to slow down a bit.If its the mmsc track then i guess u can actually go full throttle around it with minimal braking on a p200. Otherwise you are just loosing too much time slowing down for corners. you can correct this urself by just timing your runs. You'll learn on which corners u need to back out and in which ones u can go in full throttle.
