  • Yes which is why in my above post i've said "indian bikes apart from the R15". The R15 runs a very aggressive V profile tire which actually gives it more contact patch while leaning than while travelling in a straight line. All other indian bike tires work the other way round with more contact patch avaiable for straighline riding and less as the bike leans. If you remove the R15 tire from the wheel you would be hard pressed to find the difference between the R15 tire and a FZ16 tire, the R15 tire will look as wide as a 140 section tire. Once on the rim it looks thin simply because that width is then used to form a pretty agressive profile.

what you basically mean is that such tyres have less height than width ... right?

so, if the second value ('x' percentage of width, which is height) is smaller, the tyres would be more aggressive for corner use .. is that it?

      Now, what does that mean?

      • Michelin M45 tires do give more ride'able rubber patch. For example the profile path of m45 4.00 18 is atleast 2.5cms more than pirelly 110/90. And M45 3.00 X18 has the same with less side wall profile, making it more of a V needed for track. Can actually scraping things off with more than a 1cm of rubber still unused. Any way these are not exactly street tires but multipurpose ones. But still bettor than stock tires, as it gives more ridable rubber on either side for 18inch wheels.

With my ZMA, the rear wheel rim is less wider compared to CBZs and that has redused the center contact path in favor of sides on the m45 4.00. Should put the m45 3.00 X 18 front. Currently miss balanced with the flatter m62 3.00 x 18

No bro. See tire height has nothing to do with it. Killer is talking about the rounder profile of the tires. MRF Zappers on the pulsars do not have a rounder profile compared to an R15. Rounder profile tires offer more grip while cornering.

The circumference of the FZ tire and the R15 tire is almost same ... thats what Killer is saying. FZ tire is more of a low profile....very less height....

R15 is more rounder...lateral width is less.

Oh, I see ... So, a V profile shaped rounder tyre will offer more contact on the edges... I think I can relate this a bit to my R15 ride: It felt more leanable than my P180 ...

            Thanks for the clarification.

not a complete V shape dude ... I mean, a little bit like it ... & Killer mentioned it, not me.

anyways, straight line traction maybe fine on almost any tyre, right? They can grip enough ...

You took the "V" too literally ... ?

                • I guess "U" should be a better letter to describe the shape.

Thanks man. I have reshuffled the pics in the proper order. It would be great if you can through them again and give me your feedback as I have tried to work on the pointers that killer gave me about my body position.

Why don't u try it first?

Did you get home those broken parts from the recent accident? they'd help u save money if you fall trying the cornering...

then it is simple... if you fall, replace tyres... else, don't
