Inspired by these mods i asked my mechanic to change my analog CBZ speedo & rpm console lamps to white or red to which he replied in negative
. Said that they are packed and can't be changed, even if changed the visibility would be poor.
My question is
Is it possible to do this on an analog console?
If yes then how and can led strips be an option?
If no then can i change my console to a digital one?

And I noticed one more thing, If we cover the present LEDs with black insulation tape and stick the new strip on them, the distance between the LCD and LED decrease and hence results in uneven distribution of light. Check out the image.
Its better to take out those old LEDs and stick this strip on flat board.Originally posted by rahuldevnath View PostHey it's looking way cooler. And I can see the the problem of light distribution. There two possible solutions to it.
(1) Try pasting the strips on the side walls of LCD unit.
(2) Try putting a translucent piece of plastic over the LEDS and see if it helps. However in that case the LEDs have to be bright enough.
Hey pradyumna wats up....
That is cool setup, but as said by rahuldevnath there is a light distribution issue. But it can be worked out.....and a doubt, u gave a white LED for speedo portion and there are blue marks for the dial, they are separate LEDs is it.....

As shreeni said, it's a piece of cake on analogue meters. And will look way cooler and even brighter, especially if you are using LED strips. Although you have to make DC current available to these LEDs, which can be simply made by putting 2 diodes.Originally posted by asphalt View PostInspired by these mods i asked my mechanic to change my analog CBZ speedo & rpm console lamps to white or red to which he replied in negative

If given the bike to work here, I can do the mod in 10 mins, excluding the time taken remove the console.

@ Rahul
A little homework for you..
The speedo has a
1. Microcontroller MC908LJ24
2. EEPROM 24LC01BSN
3. IC AC04
Iam interested in the odo reading & want to reset mine to zero.
If iam not wrong the memory is the EEPROM. Can u research & tell me which is the reset pin? I got fried reading the huge data sheets.
Might be useful for a lot of people here..!!
