        • @asphalt - Went thru this thread after a long time, have you got the LEDs done? If you need help, let me know.

@rahul9985 - The EEPROM may contain may useful values and is not the right way to do it. Look around for any jumper that may have been provided for resetting function. (That is if you are still looking to do the same!)

And I noticed one more thing, If we cover the present LEDs with black insulation tape and stick the new strip on them, the distance between the LCD and LED decrease and hence results in uneven distribution of light. Check out the image.

Its better to take out those old LEDs and stick this strip on flat board.
you can paint those LEDs with black paint.

For de-soldering, you will either need a de-soldering wick or pump. I had used both. Where exactly is the problem?

The needle can be directly removed. Simply pull it out straight, it should come out easy.

PS: Guys i'm selling my kaput, blue backlit 220's speedo meter, every thing apart from Odometre, works properly..

i just have 1. Conventional solderon. Will that do? Actually somebody here mentioned using low voltage solderiron or something! So my question is will an ordinary soldron damage the lcd or anything?

                            • Hey guys ,

a NEW IDEA just popped into my head,

can me make the pulsar 220 speedo bi-color,

a normal riding color for cruising/riding mode

and a special color for race mode for an aggresive look.
