I feel like TVS and bajaj... Its a pretty hard time for them to pull out of this situation. If the same market continues for another 2 years... Then they are gone....They will be remembered as history.
      OT:
Just to throw some facts at you, Bajaj is the second largest two wheeler brand in India. It has a production capacity which cant be matched by anyone. By exercising good operational allocation techniques for production, they can work around the inflation by maintaining lower levels of inventories, having said that they would require to push out thier existing products faster... Which is why they now have spot finance options via Bajaj finance.

Banks moving out of the showrooms are a old story... guess about 4-5 months old, there are a lot of reasons to it... these are sub prime lending, and i guess everybody is aware of the potential risk that caused the crisis. Another major reasons to it is inability to close the credit decisioning on the spot... a lot of banks work on a hub n spoke model. This opens up a window for fraud and increases the TAT, thereby again screwing up in case of delinquency.

The benefit that Bajaj Finance has is that it can catch the customer during the transaction and an ability to have the decisioning right then and there... however having said that they are still vulnerable to subprime risks... however they are hedging their risks from one business to another!

Bajaj still has a very low down payment.. 20-30% afaik...! lower than anyone else... but that again, I guess is an attempt to flush out the inventory....

      • I have seen the nex CBZ Xtreme in flesh two days back. I checked the bike thoroughly and I did not find the bike to be that bad. In fact, it looked better to me than the older version. The graphics are really cool. The chrome finish on the headlight and the clear lens indicators at front have changed the look of the front drastically. Overall the bike looks better than the older version.

Regarding the sales, from last year, HH posted 5% growth in sales. Bajaj sales dipped whopping 37% from last year. Same case with TVS too, but better than Bajaj.

                • New Xtreme is good only in those colours which dont have dual colour alloy wheels.

For me, body colored alloys for rear wheels is a turn off.
