Won't be so easy a task compared to changing back the color of the alloy wheels.. (not impossible though.. just that Honda needs to intervene)

            • Hi Guys,

Went to Nikhi Motors(near palace grounds) today to see the new Xtreme on display. Only one bike had come to them. Red colour with matt silver rear finish. The bike did have the dual coloured alloys(gosh!! why HH?).

The fairing looks different compared to the previous CBZX. Looks a lot bigger imho. The instrumentation gets a fake carbon fibre makeover which looks quite sporty. Even the handle bar gets a matt silver finish along with a Xtreme logo on the clamp and the bike has matt portion on the side panels replacing the earlier chrome touch. Gets the ATFT sticker as well. Posting some pics taken from my phone so sorry for the bad quality pics.

              • personally instead of all these worthless sticker jobs if they could just bring back the old CBZ with alloys i would go and buy it first thing. That bike was and still is India's first "Sports Bike". Dunno why HH is wasting time on this new and so not improved CBZ Xtreme..For once we can say: "HH learn something from Yamaha India.."

                    Bang on!
I'd like to see the original CBZ done up nicely (no star kind of sticker jobs please!!!). Some how I like that bike more than anything from the HH stable.

Exactly, I mean even The R15 got a Visual Makeover and nobody complained! It was obvious that Yamaha first made it the champion, & then focussed on Makeup...

Here, HH does nothing special ... In fact, announces different color alloys to spoil the party.

@ Any Senior Personnel from HH: Please restore original CBZ Engine 158cc in a tuned state. You know that in place of FZ 16, RTR 160, P180, etc. this bike literally fades ... and please, same color alloys this time!

                      • I have no Idea why every one hates the Xtreme soo much its a good commuter and an able performer, much better than the old cbz ever was(IMO) and very reliable i have been using one for around 1 year and covered around 22K kms and have only changed the brake shoes and pads once and regular oil changes/servicings as far as maintainence goes. It also delivers around 50 kmpl and my efficiency has never gone below the 45kmpl mark and I red line my bike at least once everyday on the empty highway roads on my way to college and it handles really well on the twisties. On the performance front i have achieved a top speed of around 125kmph(speedo indicated) and i being a novice rider have been able to reach the 100kmph mark within 16 seconds(speedo) bike india has achieved a 0-100 timing of 14.90sec and the max speed i have been able to touch in my bros zma after 4 yrs of usage is around the130kmph(speedo) so what im trying to convey is that the xtreme is not such a bad piece of engineering to abuse soo much and it is on par or better than some/most of the competition.

                        • What was it in the old CBZ that still gets me to turn around and take a sneak peek whenever I'm in India and someone with the 'old' CBZ passes by?

I have never owned the CBZ but in 'my time' (which is around 7-8 years back) CBZ was the coolest, hippest and the best looking Desi bike. It had a distinct 'pulsating' sound and at every turn I could make out it was a CBZ aroud the corner. Just listening to that thump used to get me all excited. Riding it was like a dream come true.

We had, after all, just 2 guys with the CBZ in our college at that time. The high up break-light in the rear, the TPFC stickers (did the sticker improvisations start from here?), the high (HIGH) pillion seat made the gals look taller, the front disc break (not too common that time) which would make breaking a breeze, the wide rear tyre (it was amongst the first) which would give the bike a solid, stable character, or was it the ride quality and posture which was amongst the most sportiest of bikes at that time.

No wonder then why my girlfriends password was silverCBZ till recently. An entire generation of youngsters were smitten by a bike which was truly trendsetting and revolutionary.

Compared to that, this new HH venture is (pardon my language) shite. They are so behind their game they better come out with a faster, better CBZ/Karizma or youngsters like me will have to settle for foreign made copy-cat bikes like the Rs and FZs of today.

                          • it's not like we hate the Xtreme bro. However watching HH retrogressing like this from stopping production of an amazing vehicle to launching an "upgraded" version which is not upto the mark (opinion of the general public). And now they wan to sell us stale bread in a new wrapping..thats what's bothering me. I mean the Hunk is a really good vehicle as compared to the Xtreme even though they share the same engine..
HH is really way behind the competition right now as compared to Yamaha India or Bajaj or TVS in the 150 category.
The issue of the alloys too bothrs me to no end. Far from looking differently attractive, it looks incomplete.
And how long can u keep trying to sell the same vehicle. Pulsars were a revolution and theyre selling even today only because Bajaj kept upgrading from 150 and 180 classic to DTS-i to the 200 and finally the DTSF-i 220.
But im sure people will still buy this bike as u cant expect 2 billion people to have a common opinion.
I apologise if i have hurt any bike owners or bikes. No hard feelings..

                            • Checked the new Xtreme todoy, Thank God no different color alloys . New X is looking better but the paint job on grab rails are not up to the mark. Handle bar is not matt finished like pulsers or appaches, it is painted matt to look like matt finish.
