• Help :: Apache RTR 150 (SE) Full DC Convertion.

Hello,

I am from Bangladesh. I want to convert my RTR 150 (SE)'s electrical system from AC/DC to Full DC. I saw THIS thread.

My main problem is:

In Bangladesh "Paggio Ape" rectifier is not available.

I can re-winded RTR 150's coil with 19 gauge wire with some expert help.

Can "Paggio Ape" rectifier replaced by any other rectifier. For example - TVS/Bajaj Three Wheeler. Or any other option?

Please help me.

One more thing, Is there any kind of change for RTR 150 SE version electrical system modification.

• AC/DC to all DC conversion

Gurus, Please help me on this.

Yesterday I gave my pulsar 150 dtsi(2005) for DC conversion to an auto electrician as suggested by a fellow XBHP member, he is located in my near by area, he quoted me rs. 1400/- for coil rewinding+Ape rr and labour charges.
However, he said if I get an APE rr myself the cost for rewinding and labour would be rs. 750/-, I think he may use a Delhi made Ape rr,
Because the OEM Ape rr costs somewhere around rs. 1100/- so I was wondering how can he charge Rs. 1400/- including everything??

Is there any way to check if the regulator and rectifier he is installing is a genuine one?

also when I asked him if he's gonna put 2 SPST relays, he said since we're using Ape rr it will take care of it and there won't be any battery draining or other issues.

Please let me know how can I identify if the Ape rr is Genuine also please tell me if two SPST relays are a must and what is a brand of good and affordable relays.

Chill bro!

And like you suspected, he is not using genuine APE RR, because it costs 1400. I am not sure about your other queries regarding relays as I dont have a DC setup Others should be able to help you out.

In that case u can use RR of Bajaj Gc1000(auto) , Yamaha Fazer , Pulsar 220 , HH Karizma etc.

firstly , ofcourse he is using a Delhi Made RR. An OEM will come in proper package from the Piaggio Company. You should rather buy and put the OEM yourself

The bike has currently a projector set up installed.

The light is working now, both high+low beams.Output is flicker free,no battery discharge(May be because I don't use it much).
Problem is that output is too low.
I don't know what kind of HId's are used, voltage ratings etc cause the bike was brought second hand.
Also there is a small damage on the projector surface,as if someone dropped it while installation. Some glass is chipped off.
The red mark denotes chipped glass:

Can the output be low because of
1)damage on projector
2)The bike is still Ac(Will complete dc conversion help?,Any place to do that in kerela?Went through a lot of threads, still don't believe I can do it myself)
3)The hid+projector is cheap ones which will only produce that much output. For comparison that output is lower than my stock hero honda splendor.
Please suggest any remedy.
There can be various causes. First and foremost , i am shocked how a AC/DC vehicle is supporting HID ?? u said , may be because u have never used it more than 30 mins. Firstly , make sure your bike has not yet been Full DC converted by the previous owner. If its not full DC , make it asap!!... About HID ... i think either the ballast is gone or the HID itself is gone. Best will be to get it replaced.
