I have tried it ,others have tried it- Just not worth doing it on a puny three pole coil.
Re-winding needs to be done,Battery needs to be upgraded(cage needs to be removed/altered to fix a bigger battery),RR needs to be changed, load resistor needs to be disconnected, alternations to the wiring will be required and will cost at-least 3K if not more.
Instead of making the electricals full DC I would recommend you to just re-wind the headlight coil and DO NOT TOUCH THE BATTERY/ CDI CHARGING COIL. This way you will be getting brighter light even at very low RPM,which I am enjoying right now.

      • Bhai how u have got installed HID on HH Super splendor 2004 (without self).
I have the same model and have got a 6000k HiD from market but when I have gone to mechanic, who does all these modifications in my city to all bikes, there he told me that the HID kit can't be fitted to my bike because my bike lacks self start,

What's your mechanic have done to your's bike to fit the HID kit.

Friend, to fit HID there is no need to have a self-start. If your bike is having a 12v battery that's enough.
          Battery fry is different case.

Sorry to post here after a long time but I need some help with converting my friend's Hero Passion Pro to full DC. As far as I have read this thread, I need to unground the grounded wire and connect it to the lighting coil, correct? Now, I am attaching the pictures of the stator coil and the Pulsar UG4 RR that I have bought. Can anyone please help me with which wire needs to be ungrounded and which other wire needs to be connected to the ungrounded wire because I am a little confused. Thank you.

Remove those two #8 bolts holding the coil to the cover and post few pictures of the other side(back).
Also, does that connector have 6 pins ?

From my experience, pulsar UG4 RR is not that great but will get the job done for now. If you re-wind the coil in future then be sure to replace the RR with APE's RR.

PS. It would be better if you keep the HL on AC unless you are going in for a higher wattage bulb or HID.

Thanks for the reply. Will post the pics tomorrow. Yes, this conversion is for the sole purpose of switching to HID.
And the connector from the coil has just 4 pins. Two green, one white and one grey with red/maroon stripes(ground supposedly which I have marked in the image in my previous post).

I am attaching the pics of the inverted stator coil.
There are two wires, white and green, soldered to the stator coil. There are two wires, green and a blue with yellow stripes, which comes from the pulse generator. Now, the green wire from the stator coil and the green from the pulse generator are coupled at the stator coil connector.

The green wire soldered to the coil looks like the ground to me. Try checking the resistance.
                      I am back!

@ steelbreeze , to convert to full dc you need unground winding or rewindinng , full wave rr & atleast 12 volt 5 amp battery,Pulsar ug4 rr is good & sufficient for 5 amp battery , stick to it as ape rr is costly & more chances of battery frying .4 wire means one for ignition , one for supply/charging , one for light & one is ground , hope I am not wrong .Can't see images as I am here using cellphone & sorry but can't help much as very less time to be online .Get help from shoeb & other good guys here. If budget is no problem then add headlight supply relay as found in discover's , as it will turn off headlight in 2 seconds if bike is off . So no battery draining problem . I have wiring diagram & part no. of it if you need let me know I will share it . (pm me as it will come in email , I don't check xbhp regularly) I collected it as I wanted to add it in my passion , but it is really hard to get free time to work . Its another mod pending.

It\'s been 2 month using HID all is well . No issue stock coil & pulsar rr is providing sufficient juice to battery , Just need to unground & DC conversion .
But LED Headlight bulb is also good option http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/universa...ml#post1124809 http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/help-me/...ml#post1124810

                            Hi all

This is my first post and I apologize for bumping this very old thread in advance, but I thought this was the right place to post it, if it's not, mods please move it to appropriate place

I have a hero Honda passion pro 2009 power start model (the very first passion pro, with good old passion plus tail lights and not the apdv model with half digital console)

2 months ago I met with an accident due to low lights of bike and decided that the very first thing I'll do when get well is upgrade it to hid, mechanic told me it was possible by upgrading the battery from stock 5AH to 7ah, and so I bought an exide 7AH battery worth 1380 /- and an 35W hid with halogen/xenon combo worth 800 /- , but when mechanic installed it the hid(xenon bulb) would produce an irritating sound of "kirrr-kirrr" when upper is pressed, halogen worked fine on dipper but very little illumination as well as xenon when pass button is pressed, mechanic admitted he never worked on passion pro hid fitting before and it would work flawlessly on a pulsar, the jugaad he suggested (and ultimately performed was) install a switch on headlights cowl which will turn on or off the hid and told me to not use the upper/dipper switch ,I was disappointed and turned to look at internet if any information is available on this matter

Miraculously I stumbled upon this thread and learned a lot, about AC-> DC conversion, stator coil rewinding, pulsar ug4 rr and such

The thing is I have no idea how many poles are there on my passion pro,(is it the same as the guy who did it with his 2012 model passion pro?) how thick a wire I need to rewind it? what sort of connections are there from stator coil, (and I'm sure where I live ,nobody has attempted such a feat on passion pro 2009,although I'd be happy to be wrong, I live in bhilai, (C. G.) BTW)

So that was the whole case

Now I would like some help on

1.converting this passion pro to full DC

2.change bike's remaining lighting to LED (indicator, console and tale lights ) ( @above all I'm looking at you for help)

3.would like to install additional 10-15 watt fog lamps on leg guards

I've already been punished for not taking low candlelight headlights seriously and I don't want to repeat this mistake

I'm a total noob when it comes to bike modifications and wiring so please be patient with me

                            Any help is greatly appreciated
