The APE RR unit is a little expensive. . Now that I have got the HID, ill have to invest into this.

Ill first try working out without the swap. So first ill need to route a DC source to the Headlight. Wats ur advise on this ? Which is the best point in all the DC electicals in a bike from where i take it from. I previously had installed these LED accenting lights on my bike. For these I took power from the Horn. I never faced any issues regarding the Horn getting weak etc .. But the HID requires higher amt of current than those LEDs.

Also one more problem I had faced with the wiring for the LED melted once when i went touring because of the engine heat. So I insulated the wiring by passing the wires through a rubber pipe of 1 cm dia.

So is there any particular kind of special wire to be used for the HID since it requires higher amt of current ?

Regarding the battery charging, I have a 9AH battery, since my bike has a self starter and its a Exide Maintanance free one. I have been using it for the past 1.5 years and its given good performance. Never faced any problems wid it. I guess a battery change wont be required. The only extra DC item in my bike is a extra horn, in stock the bike had a single horn, and I have installed the pulsar OEM horn.

Also I dont ride for more than 2 hrs in a day, so that should be sufficient.

Also i have attached pics of the HID Kit. The MAX current is written as 5.6 amps

Initial consumption is rated around 9A but can be slight variations, no idea about the backup time it varies from bike to bike as the RR determines the charging rate.

Its not worth to do it urself Shree, as for a neat rewinding requires some skills, and do u've any spare coil to play around? A neatly wounded coil will give u desired output, else, things will be almost as same as the stock or even worser. If anything goes wrong, like winding pattern, no of turns, finish etc. u've to do the whole again. I think Shree wants to get occupied with something on his off days.

+1. Don't get too scared with our advices though! Go ahead and build it. Just keep the windings tight. And your fingers will ache after you wind around 3-4 poles! I completed it in 2 sittings.

I checked out for NEW coil, the new coil cost is 800rs and rewinding 500rs. So even if i screw up my coil the max loss will be the time and money I spend in buying 250gms of rewind wire.

I wont ruin the stock coil, ill try getting a coil from Junk And wont be doing that very soon.

For the ride sake I am thinking to put 90/100w in stock reflector and projector with 55w as auxiliary lamp for back up. Any suggestions on this?? We will be covering around 1500-1700kms in 3days. So wanna play safe for night ride as well.

Hey can I get the Shrouds separately ??

Its possible from Manufacturers but they too are reluctant to sell extra and all that suits for their lens kit, type of proprietory stuff. Even all shrouds are interchangeable too

With 90w no charge/discharge state is attained at 6000rpm and with 100w at 6500rpm !!

So switched back to Osram Nb.
