I tried my hand at HDR's too. Here's what I did, put the cam in auto mode and just selected 5 exposures from -2.0EV to +2.0EV, with a 1EV difference. And then merged it in Photomatix. Since it was in auto there was just too much noise introduced in the pics. Here's the result, comments and suggestions please!!!

PS: No comments and suggestions for my Birdie shots?
first of all thanks for the correction bro.so nyingmapa is the institute.

for starters ur HDRs are nice.but then, they appear flat.flat in the sense,HDR are associated with paintings and art and abstract stuff having pool of colors.so run those pics thru photoshop.add some contrast and stuff.

    anvancy.
    there are no stupid questions.

Colors, colors and more colors! Got the drift.

Will try the same with my P&S as the P80 was just not getting many colors. All day pics seem to have the color washed out of them from that cam, plus the tendency to enhance colours around Red!

@Praful - These foto are nice trials but something which has not impressed many. Reason- Missing technicals..

See it urself- Its all yellow brownish everywhere. When u click a foto the basic intention is how to get natural colors. Play with WB.

Subject is good, but the placement is not impressive. I mean if u have also captured a lil background then there was a scope of PPing it.
If there was a background of diff color then we could have made it that the sparrow is in yellow color indeed, now it looks like scrwed up WB (I know its not)..

Ur main subject (the sparrow) is in shadow , so our eyes first see the sunlight in background, we have to search for the subject there..
Do a googling and check the bird shots, u'll see either vivid shots or shots with proper background , bokeh to be precise...

Now Say u take a shot like that, then it might be possible that ur camera is incapable of getting such bokeh, thats when PP will get into picture. U do a gaussian blur of the background. Increase the saturation and contrast of the main subject, keep playing with settings...

So u give a next trial and post it here, lets see !..

Which camera dude and what settings.

                    Pics looks amazing!

EDIT: I guess for pictures we post in this thread, camera model and camera settings should be posted as well, as it will be easier for newbies like me and most around to learn from professionals.
