    What is more important is to get the basics of photography like composition, exposure, the concept of depth of field etc right. The camera is just a tool that lets you take a picture.

    The latest offering from Canon in that bracket is the 550D and you might want to consider that. The one lower is the 1000D and there's not much difference in the controls between that and the 500/550D, so I would say, if you're interested in getting the 500D/550D get it in the first instance instead of going for a less expensive camera and then moving onto the 500D/550D.

        yes i edited it on picnic, 4 layers of filter applied and the result is in front of u, the image above was edited with HDR. i dont have the technical knowledge of editing but i do it as per my assumptions thats y results are not that good.

            Don't worry about that .. it's all part of the learning curve. There are a lot of resources on the web for post processing of photographs, you might want to have a look at them some time. One more thing is that you need to use a calibrated monitor when you do post processing otherwise you won't get the exposure and colours right. Hardware calibration is the best but you can also do some calibration using software too. Google for monitor calibration.

                thank you brother, yes hardware issue might be one of the factor coz of which i don't get the things done properly, that wat hit me on over all image quality. i will surly check out those resources, thanks once again...

                  Go for the 550D its newly launched and is a good middle level DSLR

                          • thanks for the advice guys, i am hell bent on the 500d as i have already streached my budget too long and now cant spend any more than that . later will invest in some good lenses .
