RIMs need not be changed if your freind is lucky enough if the tire fits in properly. Proper fitting of tire needs to be done so as to avoid air leakage.Originally posted by meet6230 View PostMy Friend needs to put Tubeless Tyres on his new Hunk..............Is it possible to put them?? Thnks a million
Bro being lucky is 1 thing.........i googled a lot and found that ome how the air leakage has to be taken care of........but if some one here has done it or knows the procedure it would be quite helpful else my friend would not do much change to his ride since the bike is only a few days old.........

Thnks for your info though as I thought that it was necessary for the rims and tyres to get changed for tubeless tyres......

Changing the tire to tubless is normal tire change proedure which any tire dealer would do. Thats not the problem. But make sure that the alloys are handled gently, and put on the tires using the tire installation machine only rather getting it done manually so as to avoid any damage or scratches to the alloys.Originally posted by meet6230 View PostBro being lucky is 1 thing.........i googled a lot and found that ome how the air leakage has to be taken care of........but if some one here has done it or knows the procedure it would be quite helpful else my friend would not do much change to his ride since the bike is only a few days old.........

I have seen my friend's Karizma's tire changed to tubeless. But he had to put in the tube because air was leaking out. Also need to check if tire has properly sit on to the alloy, you can check it by rotating the ride to see any mis-aligments.2007 - Hero Honda CBZ Xtreme

Ideal RPM for gear shift on Hunk/Xtreme is 3500RPM for a new engine. This is also good for more mileage.Originally posted by chirunvv View PostHi all,
Is there any specific gear shift pattern(RPM for gear shift) for HH Hunk. I had completed 650 km and gave the bike for 1st servicing. So at what max speed can I ride my bike now.
Thank you.
If I remember good, There is a dedicated thread for this.2007 - Hero Honda CBZ Xtreme

Recently Touched 1500km on my new Xtreme. Engine is feeling smoother than brand new one. Engine sound is also quiter than before
but as said in earlier posts my bike had fallen for which I posted photos also. I also feel that alignment is some out too... I approached HH service station and guy told me it will cost arount 500-700 for alignment of handle. Is it true???

why does it cost to you in first instance..!!! You are not supposed to pay as your bike is warranty unless you had a fall on it.Originally posted by vyom02 View PostRecently Touched 1500km on my new Xtreme. Engine is feeling smoother than brand new one. Engine sound is also quiter than before

Take few opinons from Authorised svc stations and trusted local mechanic/s, then decide on merit and seriousness of the problemOriginally posted by vyom02 View PostRecently Touched 1500km on my new Xtreme. Engine is feeling smoother than brand new one. Engine sound is also quiter than before

Guys, after my OEM Amco started giving problems, I decided to look around for batterys. It seems amongst the major brands only Exide and Amco make 7 Ah batteries!! This is really sad since both these battries (in that order) are, putting it mildly, EVIL!!
Amaron, Bosch, Base Terminal, Tata Green don't make 7 Ah batteries as of now. Don't know about Standard Farukawa (now owned by Exide)... does anybody know if they make 7 Ah batts?
I however stumbled across another lesser known brand - Speed. It is made by TAFE. The dealer said its part of the Amco group. Best thing about this battery is its cost - Rs. 800 against Exide's Rs. 1,200 (approx). It carries a 1 year warranty. I belive this is the cheapest branded battery I have come across.
Has anybody tried this battery?Last edited by Raccoon; 07-20-2009, 02:28 AM.

I had told this in previous posts that apart from Amco or Sonic SF there are no manufacturerers for 7ah batteriesOriginally posted by Raccoon View PostGuys, after my OEM Amco started giving problems, I decided to look around for batterys. . I had actually decided to stick with the stock brand Amco but unfortunately they were out of stock so went ahead with Sonic SF which is a bit expensive at 1250 bucks but till date there have been no problems...its almost two months now...the only sad part is that it is not sealed.

Yes, that sad realisation dawned on me when I went looking last week.
So Standard Farukawa (Sonic) does make 7 Ah batteries.... good! But is Sonic more expensive than Exide? I guess it shouldn't be... cus last time I bought a 2.5 Ah battery, the dealer quoted a slightly lower price for SF compared ot Exide. Of course I would not touch either... I just asked out of curiosity.
Standard Farukawa, though part of Exide now, seems to make better batteries than Exide. Given this very limited choice, I guess I might go for SF myself.
Another option is to use UPS sealed batteries. They are a lot cheaper and those who have used them say they last way longer than automotive batteries. Best is they are sealed and require absolutely zero maintenance.
Better keep an eye on that SF battery... if it does leak like Exide and Amco, it has the potential to corrode everything around the bracket and the swingarm also! BEWARE!!Last edited by Raccoon; 07-21-2009, 02:48 AM.

Yes I have been checking it out at every service for leaks. No leaks till now. Amco had leaked and had done some damage to the bracket.Originally posted by Raccoon View PostYes, that sad realisation dawned on me when I went looking last week.

As far as using UPS batteries go , what is the diffierence between them and automotive batteries?

^^^ Amco has ruined metal and paint on the bracket and swingarm of my bike too!
Its not just leakage, but the vapours leaking and the crust that forms around the terminals also does lot of damage! I have taken this issue up with the service centre head. They have agreed to fix the problems. How I'm not yet sure. Take this up with HH/Service centre if your bike is still in warranty.
Well, they are totally sealed lead acid batteries. So its like fit it and forget about it for many, many years. Seems many people are using them on bikes. Those that have used them say they last way longer than bike specific batteries. They are cheaper too!
On the other hand, since these batteries are not exactly designed for automotive use, I'm not sure if there is any kind of risk in using them. But then I have never heard of any kind of problem yet.
Best thing is 7 Ah 12 V UPS batts are easily available from better brands like Base Terminal, etc.
I don't know if the dimensions are a direct fit or how they attach the terminals. Is there anyone here who uses UPS batteries on bikes?Last edited by Raccoon; 07-22-2009, 03:10 AM.
