How very true and I wish I could own everyone of ,em...

The FZs for it's sheer machos looks handling and refinement.
The Unicorn for it's all round abilities.
The Hunk for its space age looks and appeal the CBZ X also in the same league.
Suzuki GS150 to go crazy on really good motorcycle.

And the pulsar 150 well dunno maybe i dont want it. But the rest of the 150s have great qualites in em.

If money is an issue, go for Base Terminal. Its cheaper. I have their 2.5 Ah battery. No leaks, no problems since last 6 months at least.... in spite of being overfilled!
Its not the amount-IMO since its sealed, it makes more sense going for the Amaron. Warranty is subjective though-the dealer does not replace, it is sent to the company&they send a new battery. They do give a spare battery to use in the meanwhile.
Only thing is my last service 2 weeks back for the Yam costed me about Rs.2350 (inclusive of some small accessories, tips etc.) I know if I take my Fiero F2 for service, it needs a disc plate plus pads replacement&that will set me back by about Rs.1500. Add the cost of the battery to it&the overall service will well exceed 2K. Since I'm running on full synth oil, I'm postponing it. But her body parts are crying out that she needs her share of attention&will get it in due course of time.

        @vyom02 - Nice pic!!!
Yes, definitely! But lesser known brand petroleum jelly is cheaper, and actually better as its thicker. Thats what I use liberally. But I only need to use it on my CBZ with Amco ...other bike and the car does not need it!

Well, sealed battery can be a disadvantage in some situations... it depends. So I choose Base Terminal.

        • guys .. am planning for a short trip to gudivada(andhra pradesh ) and then to tadepalligudem (andhra pradesh) from hyderabad. Currently am running on all stock cbz extreme .. the total distance one way is around 420 km or so . Is there anything that you guys recommend that i should do before going ? ?
This is my first such trip so really don't have any idea as to what all precautions i need to take ... am planning for an oil change ... might either go for a motul 10w40 techno synthetic that costs around 350 or a petronas fully synthetic that costs around 400 ... what say guys ? ?

recently got the air filter and spark plug replaced to a ngk platinum tipped one ..
guys..if you ever need blood or want to donate blood, please refer to this site :

1.get the oillevel checked 2.carry a extra tyre tube with you 3.take halts every 100 kms..its good for you and ur bike
guys how to fix HID in my hunk without changing battery?
            thanx in advance

            • ^^^ Well, remember that the rear tube is Tuff-up. So you might want to replace it with another Tuff-up only. Also, you'd need to carry another for the front! All very combersome... you might want to carry a emergency puncture fixing can like those form Gulf, etc. That might be way more convenient.

For a 420 km you really don't need to worry about anything as long as your bike is well maintained.

              • I have clocked 35k kms with my HUNK since I have purchased it 10 months ago.. Just to share some exp..

                * Hero Honda default mobile sucks
                * Tuff up tube rocks.. and rocks big time.. Not a single problem..
                * No major problem, no major parts changed..

Things which i had to do..

                * Rs. 140/- service + Mobile Rs. 175/- (Later Rs. 260/-) every 2500 kms
                * Roter wash (open up the clutch plate to clean the oil filter) Rs. 50/- + Rs 40/- (labor) Air Filter Rs. 110/- at every 6k kms
                * Rear break shoe changed after 15k kms and after 27k kms (Rs. 80/-)
                * Front Disk pad changed after 27k kms Rs. 110/-

                Problem

At 15k kms Top end engine seal broke and engine oil leaked.. Happened once again just after 500km of repair.. 1st re-pair had cost Rs. 280/- incl engine oil where as second one was free incl engine oil..

                Riding feel with the HUNK

City riding rocks.. Solid mileage of 50+ while keeping the speed under 55-60 and 4.5k to 5k RPM without any fast acceleration !!!

I have done quite a few riding trips and at highway it can maintain non stop top end speed but the top end is 110 km/h :P... It struggles with a pillion though :P

                      • ^^^ Since you are into touring, you should really use only the Tuff-up! In fact with a Tuff-up, you could probably skip carrying a spare tube for the rear... and have one only for the front.

Typo.. Sorry, blame it to spell checker, as it seems to be happy with Mobile rather than Mobil.. I should have wrote Engine Oil...

                          Thanks..

what type of chain sound ?? its too early to have any chain issue on a properly maintained bike..

                          • i had my bike sparingly used for 4 months at tat time sounds like tak tak from the rear would be there wen i used to turn(slightly bending)...after an accident its worse sound(chain hittin with the guard i guess) is more prominent.... now the sound can be heard more frequently mostly in 3rd gear and while turning...

                            • ^^^ Difficult to tell without looking at the bike... but have you checked the chain tension and lubrication?

Hasn't anybody tried Valvolines's new 10W30 oil in any of the Hero Hondas?? Had a look at their 20W40... and it looks quite promising.

                              Its semi-synth
Promises a longer clutch life, etc.
Currently comes with free Reebok socks

Would really like to know how this performs compared to Gulf, etc. The 20W40 is pricier though... don't know about the 10W30.
