OK FINALLY got MY BLACK RED HYOSUNG GT250r from the dealership in town mumbai..... so here are my first impressions about the bike ....unbiased

1 looks just BLOODY amazing as soon as i started to ride from the dealership to my house which is about 40 kms away....at the first red light(signal) got a couple of people asking me questions as to what make and how much the bike was almost everyone on the road was staring at the bike and well that just felt AWESOME

2 This bike has amazing torque .... slight twist of the wrist and the bike just wants to take off , good throttle response

3 so i got onto the high way and wooooo hooo bike touches triple digits with ease...touched 110 kmph in no time and i didnt even feel that i was going so fast ...i like that (good aerodynamics) there were strong cross winds but the bike was firmly grounded and didn't sway at all.

4 Once in the traffic packed area of the city .... i did feel "my nuts start to roast" from the heat of the engine ...but keep in mind that it was 1:45 in the afternoon and well mumbai is freakin hot at that time...but still the heat wasn't that bad.

so to sum it all up from my first experience with the hyosung gt250r i would have to say that "its all about what the rider wants" no bike is perfect and as we are all individuals we all have our own preferences so for me the HYOSUNG gt250r is a WINNER ... i wanted a bike that looks and feels like a superbike with the riding position the look the size etc etc, yes it is a bit more expensive than the other bikes in the class but hey id pay the price for this bike any day ,it puts a smile on your face when you ride it

Yes it will be launched in US first.But, the 2013 version is already updated on the Hyosung US website.
So, Hyosung will be planning to bring it in India as well.

REPLY TO EAGLE EYE.... hey i dont think the 2013 model will be released in india anytime soon as they first go to the US(hyosung) and Brazil(kasinski)...but when they do it should be a real treat with the nissin brakes the slicker fairing etc etc

Bike up and running again

Visited the service centre in the morning at 11:30 and handed over the bike, within an hour they diagnosed that the rectifier was faulty indeed and surprisingly they had the said part in stock.

They removed the battery and it indicated 11.7 V which was put on charging till it attains 12.8 V, i was asked to go home if i wanted as i live nearby and come in the evening when they call after thoroughly testing the bike.

Received a call in the evening, the bike was all readied up but now the dealership's owner's brother who was there was confused if it was indeed a warranty claim or i had to pay.

I called Mr. A from Pune and explained him everything, he instructed the man that this was indeed a warranty claim but the guy kept insisting i had missed a service blah blah.

I was pissed to a point where my father had to raise his voice and finally say "i dont wanna argue with you, theres no point", the guy is really rude and doesnt deserve heading the dealership.

In the end, bike is up and running, am happy and thats all what matters.

Hey guys .... trying to find hyosung gt250r owners for their rewiews but somehow only the gt650r owners threads come up ...do u guys know of any xbhp members that own the gt250r's ....am getting my gt250r in a few days and am just excited ....also wanted to know where i could get a tinted visor for the bike

So the rectifier issue has bit me as well it seems, all symptoms of it, being was running beautifully and then all of a sudden it failed to crank in the morning. I was already getting symptoms where the bike was unable to start when radiator fans were running and on sunday it completely died, jump started, rode but failed to crank again, so many rectifiers have failed, mine being another.

Sent a strong worded mail to DSK Pune and to my surprise got a call back within 10 minutes from Mr. A from Pune, he greeted me nicely and apologized for any inconvenience caused, i explained him everything and he has asked me to visit the service centre tomorrow morning at 10:30 where his technician will check things out.

Hoping that its just a small issue and nothing else, just had a chat with my friend who also has a GT and had the same issue as mine, rectifier was faulty in his case which was duly replaced, 95% - same is the issue with mine.

Yes am a pilot, maybe the misifiring was due to low battery voltage or something when the radiator fans used to kick in, maybe the FI system wasnt getting enough juice, lemme get the bike up and running and will then check for it again.

As a GT650n owner I would say you just wait for some more bikes to launch (Read CBR500R, Duke390). The biking scene is just getting more and more exciting.
Now if you've decided for Hyosung I would suggest you to go for the Naked/Straight handle bar version. It generates less heat and is absolutely tolerable. The riding position is very comfortable. The R version is extremely aggressive and good for track use IMO. For tourers 'N' is more suitable.
Coming to the parts availability minor parts are available although for major parts you may have to wait from 1 week to 1 month. Still it's better than Kawasaki who's parts are not at all available...not even the brake shoes. If you have the mollah to afford N650 I'll suggest you to go for it for Guranteed long time ownership pleasure. May be some fellow riders will not like this statement but I'm just trying to be honest. And yeah there is an effective Hyosung Road Side Assistance center toll free. First 100kms of towing is free in case of bike fault.

Bro, I believe you need to check the ignition coils for misfire..mine is replaced already Alos check your battery once. Misfire is a common issue in GTs now

A big Hi!!!! to all the GT650R owners.!!!!!! I am Barkha and currently have a CBR250 which i share with my partner.I am happy with the bike and its been around 11 months now with us,and we are thinking to upgrade to GT650R/N. Not looking at N650...too buly in front ,,, narrow in the rear....looks like a green tree frog...sorry no offence...my partner seem to like it...green...ewwww.Ok back to topic. GT650 looks good.thinking of Red..he wants black with red cats-eye strips on the wheels.but thats not the problem either. No not even money...its the fight between clip-ons and straight handle bars(GT650R or N. I had a thunder bird TBCI and now the CBR. so clip-ons is not a problem.so guys help me out. (1)clip-ons or straight handle? bike will only be used in weekends/rides and not for daily commute.roads are good here with very less potholes and speed-brakers are huge in length and not in height so bike wont scrape...CBR never did. (2) Nearest Dealer si 600 odd Kms away.service will be a big headache.(not for me as my partner will have to take it to service...i am allowed some perks...am i not?) . i have read in the GTN forum that spares are hard to come by..is it true? is there any doorstep srevice fecility given by DSK? (3)Never faced any heat problem with the CBR , in about a year the radiator fan has come-up only twice.read in the GTR forum that bikes gets heated up quickly,i Might take the bike to beach (shorts, tees and helmet)(do u recommend or ill have my legs cooked?.....please help me,i am confused on everything even with my own questions. my partner sent a mail to DSK ..no reply till now. Why none of the owners have written a Long Term Review on GT650R ?? Haven't any one done with good riding with GT650R ?? No long tour etc ?? No! 1 Yrcompleted guys ??

hmm weren't you a pilot as well.. check the spark plugs, their color should tell you if the mixture is lean (being an FI if this happens some sensor could have broken down ? not sure). Fuel is also know factor that causes misfiring especially when they adulterate it. I had the exact same problem on my Z250 when I mixed fuel from multiple pumps and 1 of them was bad. Had to drain all the fuel (took out tank) and bike went back to normal.

Other reasons for misfiring
1) spark plugs
2) incorrect air/fuel mixture (multiple reasons for this)
3) negative pressure in tank (old bikes had this problem, try opening tank and running bike to check)
4) coil
5) valve timing
6) petrol + water mix in tank
7) air filter blocked
