Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
    The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

    THE END

      Re: Royal Enfield Desert Storm!

I was brimming with excitement as I traveled home from Delhi to my new bike waiting at the porch. And on the third day after I reached, it was ready for the first service. Traveled to Kollam and Aleppey on the days prior to it. The rides were stifled as it was still inthe run in period. Rode to Cochin right after the first service. A couple of pictures from those days are attached. Click image for larger version

        Re: Royal Enfield Desert Storm!

It was a beautiful evening. I was on my way back home from my brother’s place. It was beautiful ceremony held at his place in Badlapur, some 60 kms away from my home. 15 mins I could travel, a sharp bend or turn which I failed to judge. Skidded badly in my FZ25, broke my tibia. 4 months are gone now. I am through severe re habilitation. But that itching for back to bike was killing me. I am even back to Mumbai joined back my company. Travelling in cab is expensive and boring as well. After spending 3 weeks went back to the service center where I kept my bike took it back. The people in service center are awesome they didn’t charge me a single penny for complete replacement of handle bar, exhaust covers, side panels, rear disc pad and put a GPS in my bike. I have a very good term with them. Finally, they agreed to charge me 1000Rs only. Bike was back with me but the riding position was not that comfortable now. Considering I could achieve only around 95 degrees (knee range). So now it was again Royal Enfield that started gripping up my mind. A friend of mine owns a shop and a garage, he is a rider too. Called him up and asked how if I sell my FZ and go for a new TB. He suggested me to go for Classic 500.

The hunt begins. In 2 days of time he replied back ad said it can be delivered within next 2 days. But going for a new one will cost me north of 2 lacs and I was getting something around 1 lac for my fz. So, I decided to go for a second hand and called him up. He told me there is already one with him. It was Desert Storm. The very next day I went for a test ride. I didn’t find the test ride very pleasant other than the seating position. It was something I was looking forward to. Immediately post test ride I finalized on it for 1.2 lacs. It was a December 2013 make. I was okay with that.

So finally, it was pay time. I had to run for money since I didn’t receive the amount from the buyer of fz25. So, it was hard time. But after a long fight I was able to manage the money. Finally got it delivered.

Coming from FZ it was little uncomfortable for me with a different riding position. But that uncomforted didn’t last long. Finally, I am back with bike. It is a pleasant ride till 60. Beyond that it isn’t comfortable for me. The bike needs to be serviced may not be immediately but sooner it is good. There are certain things that needs immediate attention. Rest the bike is good.

                    Re: Royal Enfield Desert Storm!

                    Hi Gurus,

Need some help! after a brief hiatus I got back to motorcycling world and picked up a pre-worshiped 2016 DS 500 with 4200 KMs on the ODO. This is my first stint with a royal enfield and the experience has been great so far barring one issue that I have been facing, after riding the motorcycle in heavy traffic the bike tends to stall as if it has run out of fuel. If I were to turn it off and ride if back again after 10-15 mins it rides normally, so based on my limited experience with bullets I am guessing its overheating?

On a side note ,I did get the oil changed, the spark plugs and the air filter cleaned just a few days back but the issue persists. Also, the previous owner did install a cannon performance exhaust if this info helps at all I also have the stock silencer with me which I am planning to revert to see if the custom exhaust is causing the issue but love the thump of the cannon exhaust so would want to confirm first before I change it.

Any help or pointers would be greatly appreciated!

                    Cheers,
                    Amit.
