The price of clutch assembly does seem a bit higher than what other cbr150 owners have reported so hope the quoted price is not wrong.

Looks amazing but I feel bad for those who will be behind you on a rainy day. Can you please share the tyre name and specs?
Yes it's real bad for the guy behind me [emoji28]

Krishna b4u- What happened exactly? As far as I know, clutch kit of CBR150 is relatively costlier as compared to CBR250 as the kit is imported. Otherwise, the spares cost is somewhat in range with other well built motorcycles (ofcourse excluding our home brand's Bajaj).

CBR 150R spares are too costly

Completed almost 400Km today. The bike will be taken for RTO inspection, passing and road tax this week hopefully. Still following running in procedure. I am idling for a minute before riding and for a minute after completing the ride.

I am yet to buy a helmet. Currently using an open face helmet that we had bought to be used with Activa as it can be put in storage compartment. Posting a photo clicked by my RE rider buddy this Sunday.

Thanks a lot dear Rachit. Yes I am not lugging the engine and always maintaining a minimum of 4000rpm and preferably keeping between 4500-5000RPM most of the times. By lower RPM I meant below 6k RPM as otherwise the CBR150 loves to remain in the 8000+RPM range all the time lol.

Congrats on your purchase buddy! One thing about the run-in period: Try not to lug the engine during this period. This could have long lasting effects on the engine performance.

    GUYS NEED SOME ADVISE!!
Yesterday on my way back home i sifted the gear down and released the clutch, to my surprise my bike didnt respond at all. Shocked.. I shifted up and down multiple times but nothing happened! I pulled over and started with neutral and luckily clutch was responding, I straight away went to SVC and asked a mechanic to find the problem. To my surprise he said the clutch plate is gone, I know my bike was low on pick up but i believed it is because i dont revv it much, never redlined it and I commute in heavy traffic. Also my bike has shifting problems from day one as i mentioned before which seemed to take place because of loose chain. Also it is only one year old ~6k ODO.
Now the mechanic says since the clutch plate is manufactured in Thailand it is expensive around 3.5k unlike 250R which is manufactured in India. Im thinking of verifying the complete matter with another SVC.
Can anybody throw some light on this?

    Re: Honda CBR 150 R

Hi guys. I bought the Honda CBR150R last week. I was looking for a new motorcycle for quite a while. The purpose was to ride during the Sundays of each month and if possible make this my daily ride as well. I was not sure how much I will be riding as its been 5 years I have been away from motorcycles and secondly I have a very busy work schedule. So a jack of all trades bike in lowest possible budget was what I was looking for.

The various bikes that I checked out are: Gixxer SF, Fazer FI, Yamaha YZF-R15, Honda CBR150R, CBR250R, RE Thunderbird 350, RE Classic 350, Bajaj Pulsar RS200, KTM RC200.

The final candidates were: R15, RS200, RC200 and CBR150R. CBR was always the last choice because of the online reviews. But once I test rode this bike, I realized that my fitness isn't what it used to be when I was 20 a decade back. Even CBR150 gave me slight pain in my wrists. That eliminated RC200 and R15 automatically. I also heard that R15 is uncomfortable for those above 5'10" and dealerships did not offer R15 test ride so couldn't confirm it. Moreover, when asked for a test ride, the sales incharge even suggested not to waste money on a R15 when one can have similar fun of FZ-S. It was quite surprising to hear that.

RS200 is not available for test ride in Chandigarh. One dealer offered a small 200m ride on a new bike so I didn't take it above 4500RPM. The Honda dealership in Chandigarh handed me their test ride bike and told me to ride 4-5Km and come back. I was impressed with the ride quality of the 150 and booked it. They are dealing with CBR650 and a fellow xBHP member @rosher rider who is a mechanical engineer is in charge of the 650 Honda wing. I am thankful to him for being with me throughout the process.

I would like to share my thoughts.

    01. CBR150 is one of the most under rated bike in India at the moment. Her only mistake is older generation switchgear, no LED tail lamp and older design footpegs. Yes the bike has slightly lower features but do the design of the switch gear really matters? I can live without engine kill switch as the ignition key is well within my reach.

    02. The only serious omission in the motorcycle is the absence of the pass switch or the highbeam flasher switch. This is a serious safety feature that is missing, especially for those who do not prefer to honk every now and then.

    03. I have owned a 250cc bike 11 years back. I am satisfied with the performance this 150cc motor offers. I read that its tough to ride this bike in traffic because of lower torque and that too at very high RPM. I did not find this in reality. Maybe other motorcycles are much better in bumper to bumper city traffic but 150R is definitely comparable to Karizma 2004 model that I rode for 35000Km over 6 years.

I am following running in procedure right now. I am riding between 4200-5000rpm most of the time with 5000-5500rpm at times. Occasionally I take it to 6000-6500RPM for the sake of varying the RPM. I took it to 7000RPM once. Have done 115Km till date.

I am using Xtrapremium petrol only. The exhaust of the test ride bike was louder than mine. I can hear engine rather than the exhaust on mine. Could be because I am riding at lower rpm.

Thanks to xBHPians theironhorse and pranav for answering my PM and giving me the advice on running in period.

    RIDE WITH DIGNITY .
35 absolute minimum, full tank method, and I am not a guy who rides slow, nor am I in a town, commute daily in Chennai (20kms - to and fro would make that 40kms, and believe me Chennai traffic near 10 am will teach you the best driving possible). Mileage never went below 35, since the time I bought it new, been a year now! I rip the roads on free streets, reach min 90km/hr daily on highway stretches. Every morning I start it and idle it for 5 min, having my breakfast before leaving home. So taking into consideration everything I do, my bike gives a min 40 on calm drives.

Also 2 months back had been on a trip to "TADA" near andhra pradesh. Got a mileage of about 50 on that trip, was on average speeds of 70 on highways. Regular slowdowns as the roads were not that good, a pothole here and a bump there, so it wasn't a perfect highway.

    Coming to your bros problem...
It can either be the petrol pump or the bike.
Some petrol pumps loot people. Various methods one result (V loose money)... Change the petrol pump in this case.
It its the bike, change the service center, it might be that they cant identify basic problems of the bike.

Its an FI so just proper maintenance is enough, spark plugs oil changes etc...

In grave cases (second hand rides), the engine is too worn out or accident wreck. You need a magician there.
