Anybody here own a Orange 150R in Mumbai/MH that has a reg plate # 5994? If yes do you get it serviced at VJ Honda? Please PM or quote this reply if anybody knows the bike/rider.

    Hey guys,

I recently went for the change. It seems they are changing the starter relay switch. I asked the guy at the SVC, he was telling that HONDA had conducted a user survey and had found problems with the starter relay switch over time. And as this bike has no kick starter. They took no chances and updated their starter relay mechanics it seems.

    details here

But my bike feels normal, no changes, starts in a click as usual.

    Enjoy !

Hi guys, my bike recently developed this strange sound.

It happens when I rapidly release the the clutch with acceleration.
comes from the wheel / chain area. First I thought it was the chain, so I went to the svc and tightened the chain.
But the sound is still there, has reduced but there.

Where does this come from ? Its just that instant, when you rapidly accelerate, TAK like the chain suddenly starts pulling something....
Can it be from the sprockets ? The guy from the SVC says its from the wheel rubber (I have no idea what that means !).

    HELP !

    Hey

This most probably is my second post at this forum :P But ive being reading a lot on these forums.
Since I faced the same confusion, ill just share my points as to why I selected one over the other.

    1) Pillion seat comfort - R15 v2 has nothing to hold on to for the pillions, they have to hold on to you. Think about them when you accelerate and suddenly apply breaks, there is no confidence for pillions, they stay scared for the entire journey
    2) Comfort - The posture or leaning of the rider on a CBR 150 is better than R15
    3) Low end torque - R15 has better
    4) High end torque - CBR 150 wins but not by a great margin
    5) Short distance rides - R15 wins, you get style, an aggressive look, speed
    6) Long distance rides - CBR 150 wins, this is a high revving bike, so don't feel shy to rev it. you will not realize when you even reach 100 Km/hr, its that smooth ...If you cross 10k you will hear a different engine sound that tell you "GO GO GO"
    7) Looks - Subjective, for me I liked the tank of CBR and the compact fairings

So depending on above points make your selection, fuel economy for CBR in my case is, in 100/- I can travel 50 Kms easily.

Both are good bikes. R15 feels more sharper on look but a bit of pain for the pillion. CBR on the other hand can fit anyone if he/she wanted to live with it. Both are great machines in the same segments.

    Few notes:

    1. 150R doesn't have a Kill switch and Pass light.
    2. 150R has a bit better top end power than R15, but on Indian roads that hardly matters.
    3. Sitting comfort is better on CBR, but still people has completed several Leh-Ladah trips on R15.

Take both the TD and feel what's your need. Ask yourself for the answer.

need suggestion also advice if any good service centers near borivali
You won't get any nice service centers near borivali!!

Best one would be vihaan honda (manpada, thane) 30kms aprox from borivali. Mechanic will be Abdul. He does the service nicely. Plenty of cbr250r owners along with me has benefited from vihan.

    Cheers,
    Sanjay

however upsizing the front will have impact on handling.
first the front contact patch has increased.
second the tyre height is more than stock.

as 10-20mm change in geometry will indeed affect the way machine will handle.

also using a radial at front and a ply-bias at rear will give you very odd feel. supple at front and bouncy at rear.
while the front will hold under hard cornering the rear will loose grip at those levels due to harder compound compared to front
As of what I've heard and been told by the Honda SVC personnel, the speedo in the CBR 150R is linked with the front wheel. What you are saying is the case with the CBR 250R, if I'm not wrong.
And uh, this may sound awkward but during the summers I used to practice wheelies on my baby CBR, and the speedo would show about 18-20 kmph at the point where I'd drop the clutch, and until the front wheel came back down, it'd show around the same figure, which would immediately pop up to 35-40 kmph when the front wheel touched down. At first I was surprised at how the bike accelerated that fast, then realised that the speedo is actually linked to the front wheel!

3-4 months back, a Honda showroom guy told me that CBR160R is coming (10cc increase), with dual headlamps. But no news of it anywhere.
