Hope you get well soon, true biker is the one who gets back on the bike after having a fall, so take your time, heal properly and ride hard..

    Thanks for your kind words.
The handlebar mount that Cp Barmer has got is definitely a great choice, you should go for it. I guess A to Z motorcycle store has got that for INR 1650, and if you order from Ebay USA its a little cheaper with a longer delivery time. So take a call.

hi.. those fog lamps look gr8.
have you used them continuously over a long journey? did it drain out the battery completely or is it working fine? i am also planning to fit them too since I travel during the night when going for weekend trips.

how many watt is the fog lamp?

Look closely, both the Aux lights are different in the same kind of housing. The one on the left is an GE light from an aircraft, my friend had sourced it for me. Its so powerful that it can burn a piece of paper at a distance of one meter. However i don't use it for more than a minute. There are two reasons for that. One is obviously it drains the battery, even though i have a bigger 18 amp Amaron batter upgraded from the stalk. And the other reason is, once you get used to this light and you switch it off, you would go blind before your vision can recover.
The only reason i have this is for the Trucky's and those Toyota Fortuner guys who drive on full high beam.

I would suggest you to go with the LED's which are in the market nowadays, they would give you similar effect and wont drain your battery. A little expensive though, something like this.

It wont give you a good distance but would make you visible to others. Plus it would look good.

            Hello All,

I have booked a TBTS 500 from Teknik Motors, Indiranagar, Bangalore. I have been assured of a delivery within a month.

I am all excited to be a part of the RE club.

My only concern is if I will be able to handle the weight of the bike. I am 5 8 and not exactly the most fit individual.

                        3) 8amp battery comes for which vehicle..?
Ans) I believe its an invertor battery.
                        4) Also want to ask you does it fit in stock battery stand or u have done some modifications!?Ans) Yes some basic modifications are required as this is little bigger in width. So i removed my stalk stand of the battery and my mechanic has already fabricated a stand for this one. With a little push it fits as if it was meant to be there.
                        5) More amps don't harm Wiring and Fuses!?
Ans) No complaints so far, have been using this set up for the last 1 and half year without any issue. My standard has the same battery still running strong after 4 years.
In-fact after removing the EFI system the battery seems to have a little more juice in it.
C.P. Barmer, hope i have answered all you questions!

                          Hey guys,
Typically after how many km are you changing the Engine oil? I am talking about the post warranty period of the bike when the service is based on our riding. My bike has done about 4500 km now, and the oil level is intact and there is not much oil viscosity change. I was wondering about going a little further till 5000 km to check the oil and if needed change else push to 5500-6000 km. Leave your opinions!.

Its not a battery used in any Vehicle, as far as i know. Its used in an Invertor, Its basically a dry cell.
No, i had to discard the stalk battery stand.

                              • EFI issues with 1yr old Thunderbird 500

Dear members, I have an year old Thunderbird 500. It has done almost 20,000 km including a 3000 km Leh trip in June this year. it has worked exceptionally well during the trip.

but recently I am facing these issues: (I am not well versed with the motorbike technicalities, so please excuse my lay man language)
                                1. electrical issues: just few days back, I had to replace my relay wire as the bike refused to shut down at a petrol pump even when I turned off the engine cut-off switch (red one) and took the key out. the RE mechanic told me that there was wiring issue with the relay wire, which also happened to discharge the batteries. he changed the wire and then filled up the electrolyte in the battery. But I get low battery sign in my digital display more often than not. Is it common to have battery discharged in only a year's usage?

                                2. The bike refuses to start: After I key in and turn on the red ignition switch, the usual efi lamp glows along with the mechanical feeling of the fuel pump working which stops generally after 2 secs. but recently, either the efi indicator keeps on glowing along with the pump working until i cut off the ignition switch or the efi indicator stops glowing after 2 seconds as usual but the pump keeps on working. the self start doesn't work no matter what jn both the cases.

it may sound weird but this usually happens when I park the bike on the main stand. I have observed that when the bike is parked on the stand stand or when i tilt the bike a little to the left, there is no problem in self starting it.

I have taken my bike to 2 of the RE service centres. There without any examination, the SC guys told me that either there is a sensor problem or problem with fuel pump which needs to be replaced. my query is how can a year old sensor/fuel pump be damaged so soon? and why it can't be repaired and has to be replaced which I was told will cost around 13000/-.

My usual SCguy told me that this is a problem with RE TBTS 500s and advised me to change to a carburettor system which will be easier to maintain. it will cost around 20000/-. Should I?

I usually travel alone and like to explore the unexplored regions. now I am afraid, because of these issues, that i may get stranded if efi doesn't work.

are RE's EFI/Sensor system/Wiring this fragile? Should I take up the issue with RE?

Will appreciate any help/advice on the matter.

p.s: this is my first motorcycle, so unaware of any issues that is part and parcel with.
