I reported it subsequently and they reported it due to battery drain. As part of service it has got recharged, but 10 days after that battery is down again and i cant start the bike. I have never faced this problem before my 5th service. While the quality of the bike is not good, the service center is absolutely pathetic - it looks like a pan shop with folks showing no zeal or knowledge about bike servicing.
If your battery is in warranty, get it replaced. If it is out of warranty , then you could give battery fresh dose of dm water ( will save you 5-10k rupees). It is likely to be sealed type lead-acid battery , even then you could surely find an opening / cap etc beneath the top stickers of a mf battery.
Remove the top stickers ,Forcefully open up the caps of cells using a sharp screwdriver and top up with dm water. Do not overfill.
I could help more if you could post a clear pic of battery top view.

thanks dustom for your tips. let me see if it is still under warranty so i get it replaced (hopefully), and if not will post a picture for you.
weirdly enough when i had earlier complained about this to the service personnel, his response was that bike needs to be started every day and rev'ed for 5 minutes !

No not really , a good battery will and should hold enough charge for at least a week. A bad battery will give up soon, even with 5 min start everyday.

Hi. Battery problem and issues related with it is a common problem with Hyosung bike owners. The bike comes stock fitted with a local Korean make battery with no brand name. Get it changed to a Yuasa brand and rest assured that the complains you have will be a thing of the past. The Yusa battery for the Hyosung is available online at Bachoo Motors costing Rs9,000.Even I have got my battery changed on my GT650R to a Yusa brand and not even a single problem now. Here's the link for the Yuasa battery YTX14-BS - Bachoo Motors

Thanks melroyal for this tip ! Will definitely try it out. Overall i am really not happy with the quality of the bike. For e.g - there are already dark spots on the exhaust, whereas my 8 year old Avenger's exhaust is still spotless !

Did you gt the warranty on battery?
Post a pic of battery top view! Refilling it can make it last another year or so.

Are you sure that's not tar which is applied on roads that has got stuck on the bike's exhaust

The bike mechanic's observation was that it looked more like rust. Even if tar, i would be surprised why my Avenger didnt get affected in the last 8 years !

Debugged the problem finally !! It turned out to be a defective rectifier, so the battery wasnt getting charged while riding the bike. Lets hope this fixes it for good !
Thanks for the inputs folks !!

Re: Hyosung GV650 - Aquila Pro

I bought my Aquila Pro GV650 in october and till date have driven it around 2800kms. I have taken 2 short trips of about 50-80kms each, 1 midium half day trip of about 150kms and a two day long trip of about 675kms. I have only one word to describe my experience, 'awesome'.

For benefit of others I would like to point out certain things that everyone should consider. This bike is a big bike and it demands expenses.
                        01) The bike gets serviced at shorter kilometer range and as in other bikes is also time bound. Only the first service is free rest all are paid. First service is at 1000kms or 30 days from date of purchase. 2nd and every subsequent service is at intervals of 4000kms or 4 months which ever is earlier.
                        02) A service without any part or stuff will cost about Rs.5000. Which is decent for a bike of its size.
                        03) brakepads both front and rear will wear out under 2000kms if the driving is 80% city and 20% highway. Will work fine till 4000kms if you go for lomg drives 80% of the time on highways.
                        04) indian brakepads are available for Rs.600 for each disk, the korean ones are for Rs.900. Both will give you the same range.
                        05) though in metros and state capitals, 91 octane is standard petrol, go for 93 or 97 octane as that will keep this bike smooth. Mileage will also be better slightly. Incase you travel to remote locations, carry octane booster pouches. These are nothing but purer ethanol that increases the octane rating.
                        06) This bike is fantastic yet there are so many things that could have been better so ensure that you get proper inspection done at the service centre on even a slightest squeaky sound.
                        07) And most important guys, this bike has Raw power but it is not a sports bike so ensure that your safety gear is proper. Good helmet, knee and elbow guards, shoulder, spine and chest plates (usually exist in a riding jackets) are a must. Wear denim jeans and boots.
                        08) This beast is capable of 190kmph on a good road but there is no need to test that. Ride it at 60-80 on the city highways and around 100 on proper higways. In my personal opinion, these are most enjoyable speeds.

Hope these pointers work well for all you guys.

                        Happy Riding?

                          congrats prsntmsra

My battery woes unfortunately didnt end after fixing everything battery died inspite, and had to buy a new battery.
However with some haggling with the dealer i was able to get 50% discount on that.
The replacement battery they provide is not the same quality as original.

As if all these werent enough, the replacement battery died as well, when i had been to a short trip to anchetty :-( :-(
was just fortunate the battery died right at anchetty, so was able to get an exide replacement at the shop.
After returning, i got the dealer battery replaced yet again which was within warranty.
The money spent on exide battery (Rs 2K) is down the drain.
Hopefully, this is the last of my problems with battery.

Trust me this isn't the last of your battery problems.
Forget the stock battery or replacement battery that's available at the workshop. Just order the YUSA battery and get it fitted rest assured your battery charging problems will be long gone.

I don't know if this is anything significant but I had this strange thing with my battery. I started my bike after 5 days, it started fine but after riding it for 2 kms to petrol pump I had to switch off the ignition. As I tried self, it gave up. I tried 4-5 times but self was working but bike did not start. I called the roadside assistance and the guy came (in about an hour which is good response time) he jump started my battery and it worked fine. Its been 2 days since and after reading your post I am scared. Has anyone else also faced similar problem of battery?

Hi there.I have been riding the GT650R for three and half years now .I have come across all the problems which most of customers face after purchasing their Hyosung bike whether be a cruiser or sportbike.

When you had used the push button start to crank up the engine, it took a significant load on the battery power. The bike worked fine till you rode it for 2kms to the petrol pump but again when you had to start up the engine then the startup failed. Probably a longer ride would have charged up the battery properly. There's absolutely nothing to be scared, I know other guys you have the Aquila250/650 without any problems on their long and short rides.
