    Isn't Power1 20w40 oil?

    [QUOTE=Antrikshkethwas;1019088]@ road ripper
    Which oil will be most suitable then?

    Manual recommends 20w40 oil.I'm now using shell AX7 10w40 oil and din't have any problems till now.But when i shift to 20w40 oil,the engine acts as if its revv free when the oil is cold.As the heat increases the engine becomes harsh.While coming to 10w40 oil,the engine is almost vibration free and stress free.

      power 1 is available in only two flavours and they are 10w30 and 15w40, there is no 20w40, please visit below link.

      Regarding the grade suggested for the pulsar 220, it has always been 20w50 right from DTS-FI times even my manual says 20w50, could you please tell me where did you see the recommendation as 20w40? The AX7 is ok for the winters and low speed riding, for redlining and for the summers i would anyday prefer the w50 grade as it heats up much less compared to the w40 grade. The motul 7100 is best i've used on the pulsar 220 so far, its excellent for redlining and engine remains smooth even after a very hard ride. The Motul 5100 is second best i've used.
      Fun Starts at Redline!!!

          Nice to see an unbiased review of a Pulsar. Usually, either a pulsar owner praises his bike ignoring all the drawbacks in it, or an outsider bashes Pulsar saying that it is an unreliable bike. Good to see a neutral review, especially that of a Pulsar

              Happens, a new P220 rider myself. The center stand is a pain in the ass, always scrapes on something or the other, when riding make sure that you dont enter corners aggressively, the center stand might pivot.

                Hey bro .. nice post .. I have having one issue though which I would like to consult you for is that my 2009 model 220F's low oil level indicator keeps blinking after running few kms. This problem is still unresolved after 5 years of owning this machine. Although I had got my engine bored @52k (don't think this could've triggered the issue), the blinked goes off once I switch off and turn it back on .. However it still lights up after few kms of run, I have changed the sensor numerous times and oil level is all topped up, Could there be any electrical fault with the bike, I thought it could've been the remote I had installed but I checked by removing that, but the oil pressure indicator still blinks... any suggestion would be greatly appreciated .. This is a deep code I've been trying to demystify and its pretty annoying when it starts blinking you know .. I have maintained this machine in showroom condition ..

                  Since you have covered most grounds, the only possible explanation could be that the wiring is sending some wrong signals, it could be either a mistake at the speedo area(possibly try a spare speedo to conform ?) or the wires are having some problem. Sorting out such small wiring issues can b ea bit tough, if still the problem exists and you are bothered too much with it, you could just unplug the sensor, since you are anyway keeping track of the oil level in your bike, i don't think you will feel the need for the speedo to show this.

                  Cheers

                    Great thanks for the info. I agree with you .. It could be 99.9% wiring problem or some electrical interface causing this issue because I did test with a spare speedometer from another healthy pulsar 220 from one customer (I demanded the service guys as they had no other way to test if the meter was faulty) and it was still blinking on the other test speedo as well. So meter problem completely ruled out.

                    Also the current generation of p220's have a different pressure switch/sensor I believe coz the indicator lights up solid until you fire the bike. But my pressure switch is quite different the first generation 220's of 2009 and that's what I think could be the problem.

                    I fear the pump may not be flushing out oils throughout the engine parts due to the kind of pressure switch installed on my 220. I have sent several mails to bajaj and they accepted this was a fault with initial 2009 batches.

                    I will checking wire by wire once I have time .. Hey .. Thanks a ton for replying D D

                          First off, congrats. A request from my side would be, can you please post some close up pics of the engine, left, right, the oil cooler, the carburettor especially, nice clear pics of the carburettor especially left right, and overall rear and front brake calipers. I am looking forward to the Dyno Red.

                          Ride safe, invest in safety gears, especially a helmet.

                          Cheers!
