rsk11584 did you change the flasher relay of your Jupiter??
I suggest you to change the stock relay with after market relay like uno minda if you are using hazard light.
Stock relay cannot handle 4 indicators at a time.

hi rohit,

as of now i havent changed the stock relay. also hazard light i am using very rare. chennai it rains very less and i drive at night also very rarely. so will use hazard light only in case of emergency / when required and if the stock flasher fails will then change it to minda flasher.

I had a chance to do a regular service in my Brother-in-Laws Jupiter which I initially did a run-in and did periodic maintenance when in India.

The bike has covered 71000 KM in 3 years and 3 months.

During oil change I found only 150ML of oil drained. I concluded that it's time for a big repair. My trusted mechanic completed the overall repair with labour which costed 8500 INR.

New crank bearing and connecting rods, new valves and guides, rebored (stock + 0.25) and new piston were the bigger expenses. Other clutch related stuffs are still stock.

Unfortunately I won't be around to do the run-in again. Let me update if the work carried out lasted another 50K kms.

Very much happy with the KM clocked with stock TVS engine compard to the previous history with Hondas.

Is anybody using the Motul le 10w30 oil? What's the feedback on it and how long does it last?

I had a bad experience with motul 5100 10w 30 after 2.5k kilometers engine oil level decreases. Here's a video review....

Well, the 15w30 is a bike engine oil after all. Was referring to the Motul le 10w30 mb which is a scooter specific oil due to the additives. Will try a car engine fs oil after the Motul.

Use maruti 5w 30 oil, these scooter oils will not enhance the performance.

Update @ 24000 kms
Got the scooter serviced, this time changed the Spark Plug, air-filter, clutch rollers, and drive belt. Now scooter feels so smooth on par with a new scooter, the old belt still had some life left but got that changed as i had a very bad experience with my old scooter which had its belt broken in middle of no where.
total cost for spare was 1150 after 10% discount and 490 was for the engine oil and service. This scooter is quite reliable,, fill it shut it and forget it.
Give your details help a biker stranded in your city.

1. Good from competitor scooter (scooter performance and mileage)
2. Riding experience also good
3. Looking good, the performance also okay
4. Servicing from the showroom is not ok (lack of professionalism from support staff), maintenance cost also normal for this scooter
5. Mileage and performance is good, need to improve at front side fiber body.

Hello.

I have recently (3 weeks ago) purchased a TVS Jupiter scooter (BS IV).

Overall the scooter seems good. Still have to test the mileage.

I have one query, though: When driving at a slow speed of say 22 kmph, if I reduce the throttle position to zero, then the scooter starts gradually slowing down as expected. However at a certain speed (say 20 kmph) I notice that the scooter decelerates at a greater rate than before(I can sense a small jerk,as if the wheels are not moving freely). Then, at a smaller speed of say 15 kmph, everything is back to normal and the scooter starts decelerating at the normal rate again, and I get the sense that the wheels are again moving freely.

Why is it that the wheels appear to be less free at a speed ranging from 15 kmph to 20 kmph? Is this behaviour normal?

I must add that the scooter is due for first free service next week.

Regards and hoping for a reply from someone.

Need the service manual, not user manual. If you have/remember the link readily, kindly paste it here.
