Karizma r (2014) aluminium shavings in oil


Hello,

I own a karizma r 2014 v2 modev.It has run 31000 km. I religiously by my self change the oil every 3 months and it has been running on fully synthetic oil from the last 10000km like shell,motul 7100 and mobil1 fully synthetic with a grade of 10w40.Tappet clearance has been done by me with a feeler gauge at 20000km back.

On my last oil change it was running on mobil fully synthetic 10w40 oil, i noticed about 1cm lenght of aluminium shaving in the oil.Could not figure out what it was.Decided to fill new oil and ride for a week and just changed it today and noticed the same aluminium shaving in the oil longer and curled.No idea what it is.Kindly help.

The bike runs normal no issues, no weird ticking sound or piston slaps ,the clutch engages and disengages well no drop in speed.I am a sedate rider, kept rpms around 4.5 k rpm and on high ways maximum rpms were 5.5 to 5.8 k rpm.No redlining nothing.

The last change i did was to the timing chain cover o ring and gasket.Made sure nothing fell i side while the cover was opened and wjile removing the gasket..

Not sure what these shavings are from,they are aluminium.Have my doubts if they are from clutch plates side

Kindly advice what should be done and if anyone can pin point where these shaving have come from.

Hi.. can someone please advise what is the rear rim size of karizma v2..old one came with 2.15*18 rear rim so just curious whats the new one rear rim size..

You can surely go for 20W40 grade. i am using this in my karizma for so long without any problem. Done 450km single day continous drive with this grade oil without any oil cooler installed. No issues like heating or anything.

Hey guys..

Need recommendation on Engine oil for ZMR.. i have been using the Stock(10w30) engine oil but it was giving me just too much lifter tick on long rides(tick starts around 10-15kms into the ride and keeps on ticking untill the ride ends)..then i switched to motul 20w40 3000 HC Tech.. but lifter tick has increased even more. Shall i move to 50 weight oils? Lifter tick really spoils the long ride fun and oil cooler just seems to there for the heck of it..does absolutely nothing..

Last time while servicing my bike the SA here had billed a guy around 6.5k for the part alone and it also takes some time to reach svc and yeah if you have got it changed do share the costs.

Karizma ZMR Taillight

Hi everyone

I was looking for a tail light for my Karizma zmr version 1
Tried in the showroom but no luck
Please do help me if anyone has it or suggest me where it will be available in Hyderabad

2011 ZMR fuel pump heating problem.

Recently had a starting problem, towed it to hero service center, they say fuel pump has a heating problem. Any idea how much new fuel pump would cost? Also if it could be repaired instead of replacement? Or can I install a carburetor (shouldn't be a problem in future)

I feel the 35 watt headlight bulb is not enough for the bike. I didn't want to make changes to the head light assembly, so I got two 20 watt LED lights in the mirror slots. Presently, I'm switching on the LEDs only when the 35 watt head light is off, fearing battery load. Can anybody suggest if both the LEDs (20 watt + 20 watt ) and 35 watt headlight bulb can be used simultaneously ?

Yes bro, they will fir, both are same, but make sure its of first xtreme model, newer model have completly different clipons

Will the clipons of Xtreme fit our vehicle? They look very similar to the ones on the ZMR. Also, they are substantially cheaper. Any idea?

No, clipons dont touch fairing at all. When you will put on high clipons you will need to slightly low the angle of clutch and brake lever. Very little not too much, you will have no problems at all bro. If yoh want to see on video call, then message me personal, i can show.

Does this not hit the fairing. In another post i have seen you telling that it does. Is there anymore modification that you've made to the handle. Or are they stock ZMR 2009 handlebars.
