Re: Hero Karizma ZMR (2012 version)

    Hello there,
I was also planning for a ZMR and wanted your opinion on:
    1. Pillion Comfort- Specially for ladies.
    2. Headlight- Bright enough?, Can I install projectors on this or a mere bulb replacement will do?
    3. Touring Capability- 90-100 Km/hr for 8 hours?
    4. Speedo- Gear Position Indicator is present or not?
    5. Saddle- Comfy enough for the tours?

    Thanks in advance.

The body is fine with only minor scratches. The engine is very smooth. Now definitely being a used bike it has some minor issues like the bike gets heated up quickly- shall I change some cooling liquid?...the the handle seems to be little inclined toward right if unhandled while running- Can I repair it?... back light is operating for indicator and rear brake bu not with hand brake....What should be ideal cost to repair/replace these problems. Also it would be great if someone from kolkata can refer a mechanic/service center in north kolkata who can repair a zmr well. Address or phone number would do.
    Welcome to the club!
ZMR is an air cooled engined bike, so the only coolant here is the engine oil. Change it to any of the available 10w40/20w40 engine oils and get the valve clearances set. Both inlet and exhaust valves must be set at 0.1 mm using a feeler gauge.
For the handle turning right, if there hasn't been an accident, get the cone set and stem inspected and replace the cone set if needed. Change the fork oil too. Additionally, you can get the forks inspected for bends. Forks = front shock absorbers.
Maintain 29/33 psi in front/rear tires.
For the front brake not lighting up the tail lamp, change the brake lever and brake switch.
You'll spend roughly 2000 all inclusive with labour.

Yeah I hope that hero brings karizma brand back with a bang. I want hero to remain top manufacturer of our country. Seems like they are working on various motorcycles in premium segment. Source is CNBC TV18.

A little bit of WD40/Zorrik88 for 10 min. Slight hammering at the sides and then use a bigger head screw driver to pry it out.

Btw, screws holding the RVM are damaged, any idea if I can get a spare or I need to change the whole assembly

Get normal bolts from tvs. Use loctite green colour fluid for tightening.

You should get the screws from any SVC or parts dealer. No need to change the whole assembly.
