That Is one long story! But a good one at that.
And the best part about it was the early birthday gift!

I suddenly had this idea in mind and I am going to ask it from a completely lay man's point of view, which is, is the Pulsar 220F's exhaust fittable on the new ZMR? If so what will be the procedures, effects?

It is a long story.. I had a P180 2006 and a Karizma 2003.. in the year 2009, I completed my graduation and my dad got a transfer order to Delhi the same year and due to recession, I didn't get any job offer so had to move to Delhi along with my parents.. my dad told me he is selling off one bike and I can bring the other bike to Delhi with me.. I immediately told him to sell off the P180.. he agreed and without my knowledge, he sold both the bikes and after selling them only he informed me.. I was quite angry but he is the boss, isn't he?

He promised to get me a new bike.. and on moving to Delhi, he said no bikes and he got me a car.. I somehow managed to save money and my dad finally after a Home War 1, he agreed to give me some extra bucks to get a new bike.. I was considering the TVS Apache 180.. My dad didn't like the way the sales guy responded so we moved to Hero Showroom and he was thinking of getting me an Xtreme or Hunk as he didn't have to spend extra penny apart from my savings.. I managed to brainwash him and book a black Karizma R on 20st Feb 2010 which cost 77K back in 2010 he had to shed out 7K extra to get it for me

But then, on the 22nd of Feb 2010, I went to the showroom to select my Black Karizma R (they had 3 standing).. I saw 2 beautiful ZMRs standing in the showroom which attracted me to the core.. I immediately sent a message to my dad asking him to Check on the ZMR standing in the showroom..

Luckily, before I took delivery of Karizma R which I selected, I noticed there was too much of knocking sound from the Engine. I asked them to give me a different piece and I was to take delivery on the 22nd, but due to this I decided to take it on the 23rd.. eagerly waiting to get my hands on the Karizma R, the next day when I went to take delivery, they gave me the keys to my bike and to my surprise they handed the key of the ZMR and they said Advance Bday wishes in advance. My Bday is on the 6th of March

I called my dad and he said he changed his mind and spent another 25K and got the ZMR for me He quite liked the bike too after seeing it in flesh <3 and thats how my Love story with my Black Pearl began.. from Feb 2010 till date <3

I did pay him the 25K back

The original ZMA Premium Sports (2003) was even better than ZMR v2 in acceleration, but had a poor fuel economy. People desired mileage even from a 223 cc bike. 30 kmpl wasn't cutting it for them. However 20 kmpl from d390 seems to work nowadays.

Anyways, to counter this, Hero retarded the timing of the bike. This ensured that the bike wasn't that low on mileage anymore since there was that little extra milli second for the fuel to burn completely in the power stroke. Mileage did increase to 33-35 types in the 2007 ZMA-R, but that revving nature was gone. The bike wasn't that fast anymore. How to give that pseudo effect in the cheapest way? Reduce the oil grade from w40 to w30!

With the addition of FI, mileage improved even further.
But ride a well maintained pre 2007 ZMA and you'll be blown away!
I would suggest you put w40 oil atleast in summer. It will provide better protection in heavy traffic.

Hahaha I have quite the same view about the Karizma, engine kill switch would have been a good option to have but I'm okay not having it anyway, but i will do a test ride of the AS200 and know about its review in my vicinity before locking on to anything.

P.S I would like to test ride the Apache 200 too before making my final decision

Yes it is a dream to ride! I will test ride an AS200 soon to see how it feels and get the rest of the info.

    Duly noted

P.S. I do not mean to disgrace it, it is good, which goes without saying, well lets hope which ever ride I finally decide to take turns up well and without any major problems.

Although, I personally do not like the fish-like face of the Pulsar 220, should I rather check out the AS200?

From my experience as i am owning NS 200 , i feel Karizma will be comfortable than AS 200 especially ride quality.
Also my friend own ZMR v2 it have some niggles but it is a dream to ride .Vibrations will reduce as you climb the odo

If you are not concerned about ride quality then go for AS

Ps : NS AS RS need good mechanics for even regular maintenance ( check your nearby bajaj asc about their service etc )

You got that right! I live in Madhyamgram actually and Hero, Honda, Yamaha, TVS, Bajaj Showrooms/SVCs are 10 minutes walking distance from my house, with the only exception being the Suzuki being located a little far.

Btw Dipan, which SVC do you visit for your karizma, and which showroom did you take it from?
    Dear Arjit,

Strictly avoid R15, it is a very small bike! you will die of back pain.

Yes, consider AS200, its a very good motorcycle, BUT repairing/servicing AS200 is very difficult & it is complicated. If you have good qualified mechanics around you, I would say go for it!

If you dont have qualified mechs, then please avoid AS200 & try P220. The 220 doesn't look that bad either. Dont ignore a good motorcycle purely because of looks!

I have realized that Hero ASC guys are loosers. They are not good neither analysis and repair nor treating customers. Because of their work I and my bike had some tough time.

Beware not of the bike but the ASCs.

There are vibes but hey, they are nothing in comparison to the REs(I can't imagine riding on a vibrator for miles) . And I don't feel any in fifth gear.

Also a genuine suggestion: zmr/r 2014 are almost 2yrs old models which feel like lot older when compared to some of the other bikes. Don't wait for the newer version from expo. They are repainting the same house again and again.

Keep aside the 'dream bike' feeling and think wisely before you make a decision. Try some more bikes. If you are looking for faired bike because of looks, trust me they have more cons attached. Try naked, it's the new cool.

Me and my friend always use 10w30 engine oil - Motul 10w30 semisynthetic - Flipkart , therefore we never had any vibe , starting problem issues as this oil is recommended for the oil circuclation and oil pumping process in the Karizmas . People use 20w40 , 20w50 , 10w40 , 10w50 which causes the problems . And other maintenance we do are needed at every 30 K and 40 K which is usual people tends to forget due to work . Take proper care about your bike and nothing will happen .
P.S - People say pulsar 220f is a problematic bike but my uncle's 220f is running good even at 60,000 KM with regular maintenance and no modification , take care of your engine at the first service - like I did - when I bought the bike 10KM I changed the - spark plug - engine oil 10w30 Motul - drive chain lube and clean (Motul) - Battery charge - Air filter changed - all at 15 KM and after that no problems - this are always done my me and my friend so by which our Karizma give the proper defination of Karizmas .

Wrong assumption! Karizma originally came with a 20w40 oil grade recommendation. And the engine internals w.r.t oil flow have remained unchanged since 2003. So, a 20w40 oil would in fact perform better than 10w30. Vibes will be less but the pull and mileage in city will take a small hit. Maybe 1-2 kmpl.
It is very well known by now that the initial batches of ZMR v2 sucked so bad that they sold only 7 models in 3 months combined in 2015.

Maybe the newer batches (post 2014) are rectified.

Being a HERO fan I must say pulsar 220f is excellent bike in this case . And what about the horns - are they dual or single ?

Indeed P220F is a lovely bike. Arijit can definitely go for it.
    It has dual horns.
